March 20, 201313 yr As far as I'm aware it's not a problem entering the UAE with a stamp from Israel, it's only the other way that caused the issues. Of course all this was back in 2007/2008 though, I haven't concerned myself with it much since then as we stopped operating into the UAE in March of 2008, I haven't kept myself up to date with the diplomacy of the region much since. March 20, 201313 yr It is no problem to enter Israel with UAE stamp. This talk of stamps in passports reminds me of my first trip to Europe, when I was a teen. All of us wanted to get stamps of the various countries we visited. But the customs agents looked at us like we were crazy--they didn't want to stamp our passports! It would take some pleading to get them to do so. I guess now in the EU it's even less common--travelers cross between countries as they please. John
March 20, 201313 yr Commercial Member Are there any Middle Eastern countries that allow travelers to enter with a stamp from Israel? Regards, John No problem out here in Bahrain, maybe expect a little more questioning. Discussed this topic with a few other people here and it seems to be the same deal with Qatar and the UAE. March 20, 201313 yr As previously mentioned, no problem entering Israel with many Arab stamps in your passport. A lot of Arab states will not permit you in with a stamp from Israel which is why you can request a piece of paper you return on your exit opposed to a passport stamp and it is very common when entering Israel. As also mentioned between areas with peace treaties there are no issues. I remember going from Israel to Egypt numerous times years ago and when renting a paddleboat in Eilat we brought our passports in case we drifted into Jordan I don't think the route will happen with that being said and I think some of the other conversations are ridiculous. March 20, 201313 yr It would be an Emirates aircraft probably codeshare with Qantas. From the end of this month Qantas will run its UK services via Dubai instead of Singapore and code share with Emirates not only from Australia to the UK, across the Tasman but also with the Emirates services to other European destinations. I guess in time as Qantas International recovers to profit, they may base some Qantas aircraft in Dubai for services to other European destinations such as Frankfurt. The current Frankfurt service will ceasein October I think. Craig
March 21, 201313 yr I graduated HS from Damascus Community School in 1997. DCS was techincally part of the US Embassy which is no longer there. Things were much more peaceful then. Damascus was an ancient beautiful city, we lived in a local neighborhood and were friends with many of the locals. They were friendly, wonderful people. It is too bad what is going on now, but without getting into politics, I do think this was inevitable. Anyway, we travelled to a lot of places in the region, including Israel via Jordan. We just asked the Israeli officials to stamp a peice of paper in the passport. We threw away that peice of paper before returning to Syria. March 21, 201313 yr why is this topic is under risk of closure? It's because discussions about Israel are never easy, even though we see it from aviation business perspective (?), and labeling this thread as 'under risk of closure' proves it. I am pretty sure, 'Emirates to fly to Auckland' kind of threat would be a safer topic. But I am optimistic that is now how AVSIM sees it.

March 21, 201313 yr Yes checked the schedule. I thought they went back to October but apparently not. Craig
March 21, 201313 yr Previously in UK we could have two passports to avoid the proberms of controversial stamps in them. My employer wrote to the Passport Office to request the second one on my behalf. I'm not sure of the present position. Gerry Howard

Interesting, never expected to hear from a DCS student on AVSIM!
March 21, 201313 yr why is this topic is under risk of closure? Giora lovely to read your posts! AVSIM has very tough rules about talking about political things that can become heated. It becomes too controversial. They and many people don't like it. So I think it is a good policy. I think people here are too easily tempted to make smart comments on religion or politics and it heats up. You know what I mean I think. I rarely post these days, and I simply came on here to see if anyone has heard. Does anyone know pilots that work for Emirates?
