My dreams came true- Boeing 777 (Ramzzess) at KLAS night landing!

Featured Replies

I bought the 777 and while it's a huge step forward for XP , I was disappointed in the accuracy of the systems.  Seems like a lot of " AHHH  screw it, the simmers won't notice"  type thing like how assumed temp does not work properly, or how altn EEC is not simulated..    and what about how the nosewheel lights dont turn with the nosewheel...

That stuff is ok on a 30 dollar add-on    not a 80 dollar one

Sorry, but the silent majority is not even here. The silent majority enjoys FSX and does not even care if there is a new XP version or not. Those who care, own and monitor XP are here.
It looks that XPX is so bad, that when a moment of satisfaction is shared, we are told "wow, that was cool and FSX is bad because..."

Robert flies heavies, and with them especially the NGX in FSX, you will experience stutters if you have add-ons and your setting is too high.  And, just when you think you have reduced enough in your setting, you can and will experience OOM.  The truth is that FSX is a dead engine in term of bug fixes and new development. What Robert reported about FSX is true, the difference is that he can't accept that, and many others can.  I absolutely stop buying any new FSX add-ons, as there is no point to buy them and then can't use them because of stutters and OOM.  FSX is like a cruel beauty, she show you how beautiful she is and then leaves you hanging with OOM and CTD.  There are so many post about issues and tweaking FSX it's astounding.  If you go to xplane.org forum the tone is very different.

I have to agree with you here.  I did not get it for that reason, charging 80 bucks and leaving so many details off is a rip-off.  I bought the CRJ-200 and am happy with it.  I am waiting on the IXEG 737 which is much better than the 777.

There we go again, throw dirt to FSX and XP shines. I never tweaked anything, had to change one line of cfg code to make my Milviz Baron work. No blurries, few CTD's while using a cheap add on. Deinstalled, problem solved. FSX running stable, maybe because I do not tweak and do not install everything I see. I admit I do not fly heavies. But I think I could, if I'd stay away from other updates then.

I have seen thd worst blurries in XPX at FL330 while cruising wit the JAR 320.

Who said there wasn't bad aircrafts on other platform ?

Nobody, but with your comment "the main issue I find in XPX is the lack of good aircrafts with great VC"

you make it sound like there is nothing for XP.  Dont get me wrong I'm not a "######" of either, I really like XP and FS9, and I have both good and bad payware.

Posts like yours make the community believe that XP is superior to FSX.

I don't think that in no way XP is superior then FSX and I don't think anybody is implying that, is just that for some of us XP10 produces superior experience, that's all.

Again, pointing out fsx's issues really does nothing to improve Xpx. What it does do is encourage people from both sides to 'back their sim'. Personally, I like Xpx, but its not my main sim. That's mostly because I don't have a main sim. I use fsx, Xpx, p3d and dcs and I enjoy each one.

When it comes to Xpx, I'd rather people used it, not because fsx is bad, dated, dead or whatever complaint you have. I'd rather have people use Xpx because they like what it does. No sim is perfect and comparing them is ultimately an exercise in frustration. Focus on the the good we've got guys, and the world will be a happier place.

My name is Jess b and I support this message. :-)

but am so tired of reading X-Plane bashing posts in this forum I thought I would come out of hiding and post.

I think that FSX lovers just "Can't handle the truth" about people having such a wonderful experience like Robert just did. the best way to approach this kind of comments is just to ignore them, waste of your precious time if otherwise.

I wouldn't be surprised anytime soon to see a developer charging 80 bucks for a car or van for XPX ! Multisim platform !  Next add-on : learn to cook in one of the XPX town house !

too much, too soon....

there's no need to drag fsx into the to prove x plane's superiority.

Jessica I think it's about "Interpretation". Don't see why some of you here would misinterpret Robert's joyful flight with XP being "Superior" to FSX.

Pure Nonsense!!!

I think FSX has a lot of eye candy, should have been the killer sim of all times.  In 2013 with incredible PC's we are still trying to get it to run right, how many post on the internet backs up what I just said?

It's just court room bull, when we talk of what some will accept, and some will not. I prefer GA, as I've spent a good part of my life doing so (the real life scenario). Since XP does not yet have many of the scenery & aircraft adding that I enjoy, it would seem premature to just totally dump FSX, and hope that something becomes available for Xplane befoe I pass on. I'm not getting any younger. In the meantime, you're better off using both sims, unless you're wllling to do with a lot less......... For quite a long time.

Your right Pirata and I don't think Robert was even FSX bashing, he basically stated HIS opinion that X-Plane's road traffic and night lighting were better than FSX. To that end there are a lot of FSX users that would agree. The point I am trying to make is that this is a forum for X-Plane, yet it seems whenever anyone mentions having a good experience in X-Plane there is a tirade of negative comments from a certain sector of FSX users. It seems defensive in the extreme to the point of trolling.

Not really....   come on, looking at the JAR A321, 777 which are supposed to be the top notch aircrfats for XPX, these are far from their equivalent in FSX.

In any form of forums it's always like that, XP vs FSX, rfactor vs Iracing, Intel vs AMD, ATI vs Nvidia, GM vs Toyota and on and on....... Somehow humans have to do this, seems we're a very insecure species.
