March 25, 201313 yr I have had problems with FSX so I deleted and re-installed. The Introduction Manual for the PMDG 737NGX advised to install FSX on a different directory than the default one so i tried to put it on c:éFSX but it didn`t work. I didn`t even get asked where I wanted to install and it went right back to the default. Also as per the Manual I tried to locate the Fsx.cfg file but could find it. I am not a computer whizz as you realise by now. So when I ran Fsx I got the strnage air frames instead of complete aircraft. I would like somebody to tell me in plain Englsih how to get to the Fsx.cfg file.
March 26, 201313 yr You could try using the word 'please' Ok, the FSX.CFG is located here (assuming you're on Windows 7) :- C:\Users\[your name]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX ......so 'C:\' assumes that is your main hard drive directory letter. So in Win 7 click the FOLDER icon at the bottom of your screen and then under 'Computer' click the 'C:\' button, then go to 'Users', etc, etc, etc, and you'll see the FSX.CFG. Note: You may need to change a setting on your PC, to "unhide" hidden folders. (By default the folder that the FSX.CFG is in, is hidden by Windows). Here are the instructions for that :- http://windows.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows-vista/show-hidden-files Cheers. David Romford
March 26, 201313 yr Commercial Member You could try using the word 'please' Is this another requirement besides having to sign posts with one's name? The guy wasn't even asking in a derogatory way and he gets reminded to say please? I mean seriously, what's next? Refer to PMDG as Your Highness or Master? Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2 I can't believe you wasted a fraction of your life moaning about that! What has showing a reasonable amount of courtesy got to do with 'PMDG being referred to as Your Highness'? You clearly have some beef ! But whatever ........ if people are wanting help, it's a good strategy to use some courtesy, as it's proven to lead to more people taking the time to reply. But anyhoo, you've made your point so well done - back on topic maybe? <----- (or will you moan about this suggestion too ).
March 26, 201313 yr Commercial Member You clearly have some beef ! I usually get that from women, but thanks nonetheless... I'm flattered... Cheers Regards, Efrain RuizLiveDISPATCH @ http://www.livedispatch.org (CLOSED) ☹️

March 26, 201313 yr ...so i tried to put it on c:\FSX but it didn`t work... We need more details. What didn't work? Did you press the 'browse' button to select the directory you want to install FSX in? If so, did you get a message something like "directory xxx does not exist, do you want to create it"? If you did, that is normal, just select 'yes' and continue and it will create the directory. If you had some other error, you will have to tell us what it was if ou want us to help you solve it. Paul Smith.
March 26, 201313 yr I recently did a new install and had the same problem with specifying the directory. You have to take the installation very slow and read all of every screen. I can't remember what it said specifically but there is a part where you can click a box or link or something that will let you specify where you want it installed. Just read each screen that comes up during the install process and you should see it. Tom Landry

March 26, 201313 yr In order to install in the "C" drive, you have to actually make a folder, I made one called "MSFSX". Then, when you install, just navigate into that folder, click ok and you will be set. Easiest way to find the cfg. and get back to it in a hurry would be, once you find it, you should make a shortcut, ie. right clicking your mouse on it, selecting send to desktop as shortcut, and you will be set. Make sure when you want to open it though, you right click and then open as a text file...if you just double click on it, nothing you can use will pop up. William Sequeira
