March 30, 201313 yr I'm not sure what to call this thread, because its 2 entirely different kinds of flying, but here is the Alabeo C188 and the BK117 Helicopter. I have a sweet spot of helicopters, and this one is modeled very well. In flying the C188, I wonder what effect these chemicals must have on the pilots? I don't think, id want to do this for real, but its fun virtually. Rob

March 30, 201313 yr I like your heli shots, but am going to comment on your ag chem spray shots. While things do indeed look nice, you need to get the wheels down to almost on top of the crops being sprayed. Ag chemicals in todays world are highly effective, and unbelievably expensive. I was the assistant plant manager at a plant near Peoria IL for the last 10 years of my working life and we were producing chemicals that sold retail to the ag industry (these chemicals were not licensed for direct sale to the farmer) for more than $10,000 per gallon!! The good news was that the dilution rate was such that the effective spray concentration was about 4oz per acre. I hope you can see the necessity of being right down as near ground level as possible. No farmer wants to pay for spraying his neighbors field!! How do the chemicals affect the spray pilot?? If all directions and precautions are followed (licensed ag pilots spend more than a little time in the classroom) not at all. The problems come when someone (and there's always someone) who gets in a hurry or decides he can't be bothered with "all that stupid stuff, I'm a man, I can take it". Ag pilots used to be a dizzy and somewhat wild bunch, not so much anymore. Thank goodness. I'm sure this is probably a whole lot more than you wanted to read. Just remember, get the wheels down to 4-5 feet agl and you'll do fine. I don't remember even one case of chemical exposure in flight sim ag spray world.
