Fuel here is expensive, a full tank for my car costs $50-60 USD so I can see why some airlines are doing what they can do save every drop. 

It costs me the equivalent of $200 to fill my car here in the UK!

I'm just glad we pay per gallon instead of liters (or as Jeremy Clarkson puts it "Euro babel" lol)

we iranians pay less than 23 cents per liter,means that we can pay about 65% less for our tickets,this is awesome!(anyway,i dont pay for tickets,i get a paper ACM for each flight,free!;or at least 85% more off)

Right now the cheapest station around me is about $4.05/gallon but thankfully the station by the airport is only $3.90/gallon.

Don't have that kinda store that is a reasonable distance from my house plus I rarely grocery shop as it is. Gas dropped down to $3.82 right now at the station by ORD.

That's one thing I missed about the Safeways out there.  Ours just started doing that, though Costco has done it for a while.

 

The rest of it - the lack of (sizable) trees, sticking-your-head-in-an-oven heat, camel spiders, scorpions, and adding "the" in front of major roads - is a big nope!

So it's up to the airline if they take ground power or run APU? Interesting. I always thought it was SOP to pull up to the gate and take ground power. I know FS2Crew turns on the APU after cleaning up on the ground. I assume that's done just to supplement the power until the ground crew can put the plug in.  It's all these little details that I find incredibly intriguing about airline/airport ops. 

The tech ops forum on airliners.net is a great place, but the real pilots can be very abrupt by detailed questions if they know it's for a flight simmer. So I like picking up these small details over here.

 

As far as the T7 goes - it's starting to look like we won't have that giant NAV/GPS switch dead center on the MCP. What a shame. How will I ever navigate? :lol:
