Airbus X Extended

Featured Replies

Hi!

I would like to buy an A320 addon for FSX. I thought Airbus X extended is the best for me, especially because there is a version with sharklets in it. Do you recommend it? And do you think there will be an update that adds sharklets to A319 and A321?

Thanks

Yes it can be recomended. It is fine add on with good price. And probably the best one available right now. Yes there is also BBS one, but it is still unfinished product. And yes FSLabs will eventually release theirs, but when, who knows? By the way A319 isn´t included AXE now at all, but it will be added later.

As a general up-to-date info on the upcoming AXE servicepack have a look here:

Ufff, Great Stuff.  I love this Airbus and Aerosoft has done (and is doing) an awesome job with this a/c and the graphics are by light-years ahead of any (I mean any) a/c out there- in and out! Aerosoft is seriously under pricing this add-on.  Why? Well considering how difficult it is to simulate an Airbus  (and with all the extras) , and considering the best-to-date graphics they've produced, this a/c could easily be in the upper $90.00 U.S

(And, please if you're going to compare this a/c to another a/c, please don't  compare it to a Boeing- This is not a Boeing, and is by far the best quality add-on out there) :im Not Worthy:

Was never a fan of the airbus till I purchased the Airbus Extended. Great aircraft. Great FPS. Has a vnav issue but the SP for it is do out soon and easily worked around till it comes out. Highly recommend it if you are a Airbus fan because again, I wasn't till I got this aircraft.

Feature-, quality-, graphics-wise you can compare it to any aircraft you want. It's not about systems, operations or procedures, it's about value for your hard-earned money.

So the AXE is more than a "Wilco level of development" aircraft ... and still less than a PMDG-level aircraft (no failure mode on the AXE, for example).

With the announced features for v1.2 (upcoming is v1.1, v1.2 will be way later) I'd compare it to the Digital Aviation Fokker 70/100: Trade the missing VC from the DA-F against some degree of system depth missing from the AXE - the overall value of both titles to me looks quite comparable. Flightdeck experience to me is also comparable: The DA-F has a lot of Airbus-like features and the ND can be toggled between weather radar and terrain representation. Both features are announced for the AXE v1.2, too (not yet for v1.1, though).

Just my 0.02, of course ...

Another vote for the Aerosoft Airbus X Extended. The exterior model, VC, and sounds all are fantastic. I'm having a ton of fun learning this aircraft. All future upgrades to the A320/321 will be free (and there are some big ones) and the upcoming A318/319 will be significantly discounted for current customers. So, stop reading and go buy it!

Yeah I see you 0.02 is very small. Bring me a PMDG Airbus A-320, then we can talk (can you read?). Some people if it ant PMDG i's no  good. If PMDG comes out with a flying frog tomorrow, these fan boys will be comparing it to other a/c and say their flying frog is better than anything else in the market....huff, so hepatitis -. :Big Grin:

Hey, Johnny, do you have to troll every Airbus thread ? Your reply to Oliver was rude to say the least,

Agreed on that PMDG F.B. stuff. To me the differences between the iFly and the PMDG NGX are rather small, too.

As far as Airbus is concerned: Aerosoft did a good job on the FlyByWire, for example, supposed to be a very distinctive feature of those modern Airbusses.

But I remember different developers who did an good job on ... Concordes (Yes! These birds were FBW, too! Amazing, isn't it) Flightsimlabs, PSS and SSTSIM are to mention here.

How about earlier Airbusses for MSFS? PSS started doeing Airbusses back in FS2002 - they even included an alternate manual engine start, back in FS2002! (Neither the Wilco/Feelthere Airbusses nor the AXE feature that.)

And back to PMDG: You're fully aware that the upcoming PMDG 777 is a FBW aircraft, too? You ARE aware of it, aren't you?!?

My bottom line is:

- A number of developers could/can do Airbusses/FBW aircraft, it's not just Aerosoft alone.

- And not all challenges in aircraft development are related to Airbus characteristics

Thanks for saying that. Now I have made an impulse purchase when my plan was to wait for FSL. :P

If you could update to 64-bit Windows 7, it would be better.
