Airbus X Extended

Throttle doesn't work. Flying with keyboard. Getting a joystick that doesn't have throttle controls. Will joystick fix it? I really like the AirbusX aircraft!

The system requirements state that a joystick with throttle axis is necessary.

Get yourself a joystic with throttle and it work´s fine. And it is also a lot more fun flying with joystick rather than with keyboard.

Just for your information: I have flown it on my laptop using the mouse(Ctlrl-Y) for steering and flying and F1,F2,F3 (or also the mousewheel) for thrust-setting.
Works without problems !
To be able to steer the aircraft on the ground with the mouse you must set Autorudder on (in Fsx and also the right Mcdu(optiond/flight) see step by step manual Page 27)

Otherwise I can confirm, that even if there are still some quirks, this airbus is a superb simulation !

..... It is fun to fly into Paro with Thai Creations Paro addon. Aerosoft is also working on an A319, which will be really cool since Drukair operates 3 A319s in real life.

You are a man of similar tastes to me Nathan! ...... I've been fascinated by Drukair and that amazing approach into Paro for years. The Thai creations Paro scenery is excellent and great value (although there is also a good freeware Paro out there).

And like you I've been simulating Drukair A319 flights, with the Aixbus X Extended A320, since the moment it was released. ...... can't wait for Aerosoft to release the A319!

I regularly fly using the keyboard. I find it more convenient when using the PC for programming scenery or whatever.

If you have Pete Dowson's FSUIPC then I would recommend Enrique Vaamonde's Keyboard Fadec script 'keyboard_fadec.zip'.

(I got it from the Aerosoft site):

http://forum.aerosoft.com/index.php?/topic/60363-fadec-keyboard-control-lua-script/

I find that it is a much more convenient method, as long as you keep a check on the FADEC's readouts on the EWD for the

Idle/CL/Flex or TOGA thrust levels as explained in Pic No 44, page 38 in the EDDF - LOWW Flight Tutorial or page 11 in the Systems Guide, Vol 4 (Thrust Levers).

I know it is 'cheating' but I get a lot of pleasure in my 'semi auto flight' using the AP and the script when I just need a short flight in the AXE. Otherwise I use my T.16000M and leave the thrust at CL after takeoff for the flight.

On another note - am I missing something, or is the MCDU on this plane missing some significant features, such as time to next waypoint?
