May 17, 201313 yr If I buy "FS Build" will I be able to load Flight Plans into my 737NGX? I currently use "Flightsim Commander" although I've been unsuccessful in setting it up to export my Flight Plans. I think it's a path problem and am working to overcome it. However if FS Build allows me to export, and I can't crack the "Flightsim Commander" problem, perhaps FS Build could be my answer. Cliff Cliff Harris

May 18, 201313 yr If I buy "FS Build" will I be able to load Flight Plans into my 737NGX? Hi Cliff,You most certainly can ! All you'd need to do, is specify the export directory in FSBuild, save the options, and you're away. For your information I attach a screen capture of my setup (note that my FSX root folder is C:\FS\FSX, yours may be different). In fact I think that FSBuild may fill this path automatically when you specify the location of your FSX root folder, so it may already be there for you. Cheers, Emile Bax.
May 18, 201313 yr Ah guys this all well and good but the ngx after the latest patch will import sometimes and sometimes not keep that in mind, but low and behold when the new ideal flight comes out it does export and input with no problems as Steve has been hard at work making sure it does and as a tester I can tell you it does work really nice, you may want to think twice about your puchase. May 18, 201313 yr Commercial Member Cliff, Just a helpful hint. I Googled "Flight Plan FS Build NGX" and it popped up several threads with the answer. I'm not criticizing you for posting something that's been addressed quite a number of times, NOT AT ALL. Just suggesting it may be faster than waiting for the answer, or the correct answer. The forums here and on other sites have a wealth of information that many knowledgeable people have taken the time to address issues in detail. For instance, the first hit that shows up from the US based Google not only answers the question, but also tells us that PMDG products all use the same flight plan format (thus any program which exports to another type of PMDG aircraft will also work for the NGX. That's the type of great additional information one can get when they search for the answer themselves. Again, absolutely no critisim intended. No RTFM or STFW here. I just subscribe to the "Teach a man to fish" ideology. Here is the first Google hit. http://www.fsbuild.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=4147 Dave Dave Hodges System Specs: I9-13900KF, NVIDIA 4070TI, Quest 3, Multiple Displays, Lots of TERRIFIC friends, 3 cats, and a wonderfully stubborn wife.
May 18, 201313 yr Author I've installed FS Build and now have a pretty good idea of how it works. However I can't load my Plans into the 737. I think I've figured out the reason and I'd appreciate guidance on how to overcome what I assume to be the problem of the paths for FSX and PMDG not being correct. In the Options section there is a BROUSE button in the FSX line (Line 1) which allowed me to select the path below. I'm hoping it's correct. C\ Bootcamp Programs files (X86) Microsoft Games Microsoft Flight Simulation However the next BROUSE button is in line 22 and therefore I can't change the PMDG path to what I assume would be correct C\ Bootcamp Programs files (X86) Microsoft Games Microsoft Flight Simulator PMDG Flight Plans Is there a moving the BROUSE button in order to select the correct path? ? Incidentally my thanks to all of you for trying to help me. Cliff Cliff Harris
May 18, 201313 yr You didnt read my post did you pmdg has stated they do not believe in importing flight plans anymore, they believe its easy enough to just manually input them, I think its just an excuse for their last service pack but that's just me. Rich Sennett
May 18, 201313 yr With FSBuild you can export flight plan for pmdg format, and works for NGX. BUT if you try to save a flight in mid air and reload it next time FMC doesn't recognize anymore flightplan data iand fmc is empty. It appens only with NGX and not with MD11. It's not properly fault of FSBuild think, because NGX format is different from PMDG "legacy" format of MD11 and others. May 18, 201313 yr I export using FSBUILD for all my flights, never any issue. Don't export with SID/STAR's.
May 18, 201313 yr I create a new flight plan in FSBuild for every flight (just like in real life) and it has always worked in NGX as well as my other planes. Tom Landry

May 18, 201313 yr Read this over at pro atc forum Ever since service pack B PMDG doesn't want you to import flight plans with SID/STAR because it causes issues /crashes. ProATCX is the only program left that will even allow you to do it I think. If you do you can't toggle between the different SID/STAR in your FMC because it will duplicate the waypoints Also I think I read one of the pmdg guys said its easy enough to manually input it and you should be doing it this way anyway as this is how its done in real life Now the more I think about it I would bet there will be no import functionality in the 777 knowing how pmdg feels about this - they should comment on this to clear things up - please. Besides, in the real world crews don't important the departures or arrivals procedures anyway, afaik. That is all done manually and any disco's are cleaned up after. -edit Yeah, what you said lol.
