June 1, 201313 yr Hi Oliver. Your reply has now shed light on a few more things as I purchased the AXE around April and have been away for a month away from FSX and my PC completely. After looking for that AAX Configurator in the places where you have suggested I look, and not fining it there, I've just checked the ReadMe that comes with the re-install and it seems I have v1.104. So, it seems somewhere along the line I have missed v.1.10, hotfix 014-15(and you've recommended giving 014 a miss). So, question is, where do I get v1.10? Thanks once more for your assists. Chances are, you bought download - from Aerosoft or from some other store? An Aerosoft download gets updated within the shop - just log in again, don't buy but re-download what you bought already, and that will be the latest full version (1.10). Downloads from other shops (SM, FSS, others) need to be registered with the Aerosoft FAQ/Updates database - register as a product owner (left side) - log in to the database (right side) - register your AAX (use the serial key from your download store) - continue to the AAX FAQ/downloads within that database - download full v1.10 from there. June 1, 201313 yr I'm having issues with advancing the throttles via my Xbox controller. I have assigned the proper buttons for them but they simply don't wanna budge. For some reason reverse throttle works but not the other way around. I fly the 737ngx and 747 without any problems moving the throttles with my joystick but I am only experiencing this issue with the airbus x extended. Please tell me it's possible to control the throttles with this plane with my controller. June 2, 201313 yr Hi Oliver Did as you suggested, uninstalled v.1.04, got v1.10 then re-installed v1.10, then Hotfixes 015 followed by 016. Everything seems to be running okay except when I inject a bit of weather via FSrealWXlIte, the aircraft yo-yos up and down like a pendulim. Does it not like weather and is there a cure to this descending/ascending behaviour? Other than that, a really immersive aircraft to get into. I'm glad I bought it. Rick Almeida

Does it not like weather and is there a cure to this descending/ascending behaviour? Other than that, a really immersive aircraft to get into. I'm glad I bought it. In case those yo-yos are really abrupt (more severe than with any kind of turbulence or wind shifts), look out for stutters, low frame rates, and short periods of freezing. I can imagine that weather injection could cause that kind of effects - temporarily only. If my theory is correct, then it's the FlyByWire which gets upset. If you can't stand that period of yo-yoing (or if the AAX goes berserk over this), it may help to lower time acceleration to 1/2 or 1/4 to help the FBW, until the AAX "behaves" normally again. BTW, the FBW should be more stable with v1.10 than with v1.04: Did you experience that same behaviour before with v1.04? In case wind shifts contribute to this - is there an option available for you for wind smoothing? FSX internal 'turbulence effects on aircraft' should be disabled for any aircraft - not just for PMDG ... Hope this helps! What happened to AVSIM

I've had such behavior, too, but blamed it on my ignorance when it comes to loading and calculating the fuel (I'm not sure if I loaded the plane correctly before that flight) and on the weather (I've used real world weather for the first time since months). I shall try that again as soon as I can. Florian

June 2, 201313 yr Hi Oliver. Thanks for your repsonse. That yo-yo going up to 40k from a pre-selected 35 ALT and then abruptly down again way past lower that the 35k also happened in v 1.04. I thought it might have been fixed in the newer version. I have heeded the Tutorial advice and do not select anything beyound Normal SIM rate, but I'll give your suggestion a try. I'm only using that FSrealWXlite weather engine and a basic FSUIPC, nothing tied to FSX turbulence. I just thought with REX, Opus and other weather engines around, this aircraft could handle wind shifts, etc. Fuel was not a factor because I had used the Fuel Planner correctly as per the Tutorial flight. CI=40, load was less than 100 pax and all parameters were in the green. Scratch head time! Rick Almeida

I did a flight one day from thunderstorm into thunderstorm (both airports were "heavy RA/TS" in ASE). I think it's not just about the shifts and gusts, but also about frame rates - how were yours? http://forum.aerosoft.com/index.php?/topic/67812-thanks-to-all-involved/?p=486044 What happened to AVSIM
June 2, 201313 yr Hi Oliver Tried a flight without any weather engine whatsoever. Guess what? As soon as I reached CL, it was back to yo-yoing up and down the altimeter scale.Set CL to 26k,and there she is zooming up to 34k and than just as same the opposite end with that irritating Overspeed warning(can it be switched off?)going off. Just when I was about to think that I'd at last found the perfect Airbus............. Framerates are not to bad at the 25s-29s(limiter set to 30 as per Word Not Allowed's tweaks) Am intrigued why when I try to select a descent altitude this plane far from descending, instead has a mind of her own and climbs up instead. Why is it virtually impossible to manually fly this plane? Rick Almeida

June 2, 201313 yr So, where does the yo-yoing start? In CRZ phase or when trying to trigger the DES phase? Are you just lowering the ALT value or are you also pressing the ALT knob to start a descent? What happened to AVSIM
June 2, 201313 yr So ,where does the yo-yoing start? In CRZ phase or when trying to trigger the DES phase? Are you just lowering the ALT value or are you also pressing the ALT knob to start a descent? Yo-yoing starts not too long after in CRZ phase(no weather engine), i.e. selected CRZ ALT reached, and then the MCDU right-hand side under checklist keeps flashing something about Cruise Level Lowering the ALT value as well as pressing the ALT knob as it shows in blue the ALT value on the PFD Flight just concluded----flying into VABB at an ALT of 26k selected 12k but instead of going into a DES, it just kept climbing. Flight was not programmed via the MCDU as it could not find the DEP airport. I then had to decouple the AP and hand-fly it to a lower altitude and that involved almsot pointing the nose vertically down as it kept trying to ascend in a mind of its own. Finally, I got to that 12k and was able to control the rest of the path to APP point on AP Do not want to 'challenge' you much further as I do not want you to reach your wit's end, rest assured!
