AirdailyX billboard expecting the PMDG 777 to be released in May!

Very sorry to hear your story Luke, passed by a similar case (eyes problem!) when I applied to the Lebanese air force years ago, well, life should go on, went to the business school, and here I am, looking at aviation from a different perspective, keeping the PPL in my bucket list (just after finishing my DBA). Keep up high hopes Luke, Wish you all the best.

Yea health conditions prevented me from flying for the military and can't afford to learn the civilian way, lots of people in that boat.

I'm pretty much in the same space - just can't be bothered anymore. If PMDG want to tease their customers for months and months, that's their decision, I just wont buy their product. It's all supply and demand .....

.....I got the Majestic Q400

I'm not going to dissect what you said because I'm some PMDG defender, but because what you wrote just equates to a whiny child throwing a temper tantrum since they don't have what they want yet, plus it was loaded with irony too (my favorite part of literature and human nature).

It's a "bother" to come to a forum and read updates or look at screenshots?

Then don't come to the forums anymore.

And I also didnt realize that giving status updates and providing high quality exterior and interior screenshots is now considered "teasing".

I think it's only "teasing" to you because you can't buy it yet and that frustrates you.

And you won't buy the 777? Heh, yes you will.

Funny you mention supply and demand because to my knowledge I really don't see which company is producing/has produced a high fidelity and in depth 777 simulation that can even rival PMDG's reputation.

That's not butt kissing, that's just fact.

The most ironic part of your whole post was you mentioning you bought the majestic q400.

How long was that in development? The 777 development hasn't even hit 2 years.

And yet, you were still "bothered" to buy the q400 when it released.

Sorry but your whole post was a thinly veiled complaint that you don't own the 777 yet. That's how I read it.

True the 737 was released less then 2 years ago, so a 2 year development cycle is not that slow!!

Wow, you read far too much into my statements.  Just chill out guys, in my original post I was simply stating a point of view which mirrored what I took from another posters comments.

1. I don't have a lot of free time to continually check a forum - I keep an eye on things primarily by checking Simflight.com once a week to get the high-level updates on things.

2. By teasing I wasn't referring to screenshots at all, I was referring to the "jokes" (as they have so eloquently been called) told at various public events/forum posts around the release of the T7.  This creates unnecessary hype and frustration for many - personally don't like these business practices. Based on the high-level information I receive (point above) this is my personal opinion on how it looks to me.

3. Supply and demand was made in a very general context, referring to flight sim add-ons in general. Your point is correct, there is demand for a high-quality T7, but there is no supply at present.  I made a choice for my next flight sim add-on based on supply.

4. And finally (and you had me laughing in my chair), back to my generalist statement regarding supply and demand (point 3 above). I will admit I have no idea the development time of the Q400 (point 1 above).

One last point (and I wont mention the name as per Rob R's rules), I will admit the 777 I purchased is definitely sub-standard, but I also figured out after flying it for a while, it makes for very boring flights - though I'm sure PMDG will add an advanced level of simulation like what they did for the NGX. I guess that may change at a later date, but personally I found the T7 a bit of a boring aeroplane.

Lesson learned, don't bother posting a point of view at all.

I'm pretty much in the same space - just can't be bothered anymore. If PMDG want to tease their customers for months and months, that's their decision, I just wont buy their product. It's all supply and demand, if it is available or a firm date is made available then I'll make a purchasing decision based on this, if not I'll spend my money on something else. I like PMDG products, their service and own several of their planes, but I don't like companies playing silly games with their customers.

:LMAO:  :LMAO:

Oh man... :Just Kidding:

Thank you, Steve. No matter what, I'll keep flying GA if health permits. My back up was to go NATS in the UK to train up to be an ATCO - however, I need to see the medical limits there too. Either way, I'll always be working in Aviation!

Hoping for the best, Luke!!!

Thanks Oliver! I'll let you guys know how it goes next week at the doctors and with the CAA.

I went for my normal eye check ups, after doing every test under the sun - they found my left eye pressure was a little high and optical nerve slightly different shape to other eye. Giving them suspicious signs of Eye Glacouma. She couldn't diagnose me there and then - however they've referred me to a specialist to get a second opinion. If he concurs, I'll be on eye drops for the rest of my life with a possible laser treatment later down the road. I'm more than sure that'd come in and affect my chance of getting a CAA Class 1 Medical. Once I'm fully diagnosed, I'll have to call and see what they say. But from what I read, I won't get my hopes up!

Yes that sucks. I cannot get any medical after an eye surgery at birth (and an infection). I have monocular vision (but have 20/20 with glasses). I was lucky and still have great peripheral and depth vision, though not enough for a medical.

Either you stand by what you write or you don't.

Based on your reply it looks like you don't.

We all know the trolls who complain PMDG are taking too long and refuse to buy it will on release day.

Now it's clear, you are a "Mr Know It All" - I've got better things to do.  Some people can't be helped.

I have not once made any comment that PMDG are taking too long to release it.

I suggest you both read over all the comments again including my original post and the post it was based on.

Agreed. I have just found the ignore member function - you can hide messages from users with absolutely nothing useful to say.
