June 28, 201312 yr Is de-lidding really required on Haswell if you want a good overclock? Let's say you overclock to 4.5 and use an H100 or H110 or so, what temps should I be looking at at full load? Arjen Vandervelde

For 4.5GHz probably not, but it will depend on the actual CPU you purchase, the tim you use to mount your H100/H110 and the air flow of your case. Nick got a stable 4.5GHz on air with a stock TR Archon SB-E x2 using the included CF3 paste.
June 28, 201312 yr So is Haswell a go? Been researching whilst saving for my first desktop PC. Would like to finalise my parts somewhat! - Luke Pabari
June 29, 201312 yr My wife said she didn't really need her own pc Now there's a man that knows how to pick a woman! Kind regards,
June 29, 201312 yr Lol. She was also ok with me to get rid of my 24" 1080p monitor and upgrade to a 27". Now im trying to decide between 1080p and 1440p. 1440p could be too expensive though unless I get one of those Korean Catleap or similar monitors. That could be a bit of a risk though. Otherwise I can get a Dell U2713HM. Just not sure of it will be any good for gaming outside of FSX or if I can wear the performance hit going up to 1440p. Either way I'm really looking forward to this Haswell build. Others results sure look promising!! -Anthony Young- "For once you have tasted flight you will walk the earth with your eyes turned skywards, for there you have been and there you will long to return." - Leonardo da Vinci

July 14, 201312 yr Nothing from me yet. Ran into a bit of a problem with my psu and a slight incompatibilty as I decided to SLI 780's to max out other games at 1440p. Luckily Amazon allowed me to return the psu for a full refund. Fingers crossed ill have the new psu and second 780 by the end of the week, maybe early next week. -Anthony Young- "For once you have tasted flight you will walk the earth with your eyes turned skywards, for there you have been and there you will long to return." - Leonardo da Vinci
