Real World Charts for free

Featured Replies

Hello Captains:

In a different thread (I believe it was on pg. 23 of the "15MAR13 - Let the Previews Begin!" topic), we exchanged some links to official internet ressources that offer accurate (real world) charts for free. With the upcoming release of the 777, I believe that most of have the need for getting those charts in order to fly around the world and to boldly go where no captain has gone before. Ahem, therefore I would like to propose - and I hope I do not violate forum rules here - to start a collection of these webpages at a central point for easy reference.

I would like to start with the ones that I use so far:

Europe (EUROCONTROL): http://www.ead.eurocontrol.int/eadcms/eadsite/index.php.html

United States: http://aeronav.faa.gov/index.asp?xml=aeronav/applications/d_tpp

Australia: http://www.airservicesaustralia.com/aip/aip.asp

New Zealand: http://www.aip.net.nz/

I everyone could add their links to other official (and free) ressource, I guess we could compile a pretty interesting and comprehensive list.

Cheers,

Markus Richte

Both of these websites offer global coverage in one place for free:

Charts.Aero
AirCharts.Org

The free site coverage is pretty good if you combine these two websites. They include all the Eurocontrol charts but via a much more accessible interface.

If you're planning on flying to many airports in Canada, China, India and some South American and Middle Eastern countries that aren't covered by these two freebies, then you'll have to search elsewhere (such as the VATSIM regional websites) or get a subscription to a sim chart service like Navigraph.

Thanks; great so far. Perhaps if you agree, an admin could include all links to my first message above so we can have them all at hand in one message. It seems that I cannot edit my first post after it has been replied to.

Cheers,

Great List, Pete.  Thanks

Bahrain seems to be now: http://www.bahrainaims.com/

Estonia: http://aim.eans.ee/ (klick "eAIP)

Finland works for me

Italy: http://www.enav.it/portal/page/portal/PortaleENAV/Home_EN/AIP_EN (registration required; I don't know if it costs fees because I did not try it)

I also came across a nice compilation of AIS by state: http://www.eurocontrol.int/articles/ais-online (these are just links to the respective websites; not all of the AIPs can be accessed or accessed for free)

Anyone have an updated link for the China one?  Just seems to be an information page.  Can't seem to actually find charts on it.
