Getting some kind of drive error page now... had to refresh several times to get here.

A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.

I am using Chrome. The main website and forum are very very slow to load.

Tom,

Not really. It seems to take a very long time (couple of minutes) to get to the forum index page and have it display. Once I sign in, moving around the forums is somewhat better than it was yesterday. Logging out can take as long as three minutes. Thought Opera was going to be different, but not so, having the same issues as described with it now. If I don't sign in, the forums are all but useless as it takes forever to navigate around and just look. This started for me last week, up till then everything here was very fast. Thanks for your help.

I trashed Opera a long time ago and just downloaded and installed it again to test and yes, it is still significantly slower than Firefox and even Internet Explorer. Why are you logging out? Doing so causes more delay in getting the index page to load. Change over to Firefox or anything else but Opera and see what happens.

I use the latest version of Firefox (22.0). Just tried Opera to see if there was any difference in speed versus Firefox. Logging out is something I have always done. Your advice is to remain logged in all the time?

Sure. Stay logged on from your private computer. Don't do that from a computer that is accessible to the public though.

Hi, Just for reference ,I use latest fire fox.It has just taken me 6 mins to get here.

Slow but better in Australia - thanks for your vigilance.

Hi Tom ,

This is the slowest I have seen it in years, took two minutes to get the page to reply.

Bob

PS Will try back in a few hours.

Now getting shortened pages (10 entry per page), was getting more entries before per page but not sure how many probably 15-20. Still slow getting into AVSIM for the login, using IE 9.

The past few days have been pretty slow for me too, not sure why, is it that you opened it up to guests again? Taking 2-3 mins to load a page every time. Also email notifications aren't going out to threads I'm subscribed to which would help as then I don't have to log on to read what's been said. I remember it being much faster than this though 1-2 years ago when it was open to guests as well then though, maybe FS and AVSIM have just become too popular for their own good...  ^_^  :Applause:
