October 26, 200421 yr What more can I say. Amazing program, works well, easy to learn, great addition to our hobby, great tutorial and so on.Once again, many thanks for sharing your expertise and time to bring us this most excellant scenery design program.
October 26, 200421 yr cool, glad you got it to work for you. CPU: Core i5-6600K 4 core (3.5GHz) - overclock to 4.3 | RAM: (1066 MHz) 16GB MOBO: ASUS Z170 Pro | GeForce GTX 1070 8GB | MONITOR: 2560 X 1440 2K
October 26, 200421 yr I would also Like to thank you for the product. I was able to "fairly" easily add some well known landmarks using the generic objects to my home of Huntsville Alabama,In a few short hours, I was able to add representations of the space and rocket center (with space shuttle parked beside it), the Marriot Hotel next to the rocket center, and Browns Ferry Nuclear power plant on the Tennesse river. However, there are some things that perhaps you might improve on.1. Sizing of each item is not represented. I know we are using two separate programs, but since each object is of different size, it's hard to place it without numerous trials and errors, especially if you are placing it next to a roadway or riverbank. Placing the Browns Ferry Nuclear power plant to 6 or more attempts to try and "nestle" it in between the access road and shorline, and between each attempt I had to compile and reload FS9 to see where my changes took place.2. The program has the option to place an object on a certain heading, but the objects have no indication what the "front" is. As a result, I often had to do numerous "rotates" to get the object to face correctly. This is especially true of bridge segments as the road sometimes actually runs 90 degrees offset from what the "bearing" of the object is.3. Bridges are a bear! I attempted to build the Causeway in New Orleans across Lake Ponchetrain. In addition to the "heading" issue I mentioned above in number two, since I have no size reference, it is very difficult to place the bridge objects adjacent to each other. Even once I got two pieces aligned and calculated the proper distance for future segments, the bridge segments are a scant 200 ft long, and to cover a 20 mile bridge across the lake would have required a staggering 624 segments to be manually placed.I know it may not be possible, but it may be worth it, to be able to grab an 'area' by slewing, and then placing the objects using the GUI. The GUI could give a rough size and positioning information for the customer so I can properly align storefronts with roads. Also, when making bridges, I would love to define a begining point, an End point, and then choose the appropriate "middle" sections to use between the two points and have the program create the appropriate XML entries to be calculated based on the bearing information given and the size of each bridge segment.I would love to do a Lake Ponchatrain Causway, but hand placing (sometimes several times) small bridge segments, and then exiting and restarting FS9 to see my changes makes this program only suitable for single object addition and not very condusive to bridging.Don't take this the wrong way, it's a wonderful project and adds a neat ability to "custom fit" their home area within reason, but the lack of a sizing reference or "bearing" indicator makes the program limited to only enhancements that require very few objects and almost none sitting side by side.
October 26, 200421 yr Will,Thanks for the detailed feedback - this is excellent and we take it exactly as you meant - ideas for improvements.Given the limited time we have to spend on our hobby, we could not find good solutions for giving you a real WYSIWYG environment without additional research and we decided to publish the software as is for cases that require less accurate placement. The heading issue is mainly due to the differences in the way the library objects were originally designed in gMax. What we may be able to do is give you some indication in the software where the "front" is.We'll try to make it better, but no promises...Israel
October 26, 200421 yr I downloaded it last night and haven't yet had a chance to play with it... Does this place FS2004 library objects. or objects from it's own library? Simply, how portable are the files that Rwny12 creates? Can't wait to try it out in the coming week!-Greg
October 26, 200421 yr I would also like to take the opportunity to thank Israel and Seev for the excellent software. For quite a long time I've been looking at the FSE Enhancery software, but have been waiting for something else to show up. And it did!I had a problem with the Scenery Designer in the start with my PC generating commas instead of dots in the Lat- and Long coordinates in the XML-files. But with nice and quick support from Israel we managed to solve it. Kudos!Regards,Jan Bergwall
October 26, 200421 yr Installed it and think this will be a great addon, let's hope for more objects in the future. But there's one thing I can't get right. After I create foo.bgl where exactly do I have to place it?I tried with Addon SceneryStatic ObjectsScenery and it didn't show up in FS, however during load up Fs updated the scenery library.Perhaps has something to do with the fact that I have Fs2004 installed in F:Fs2004 and had some problems with the installers. For some reason the Static objects installer failed to install in path different from the standard Program filesMicrosoft Gamesetc etc.
October 26, 200421 yr I've been hoping something like this would come along. Can't wait to give it a try and make my home airport look a little bit more realistic. Thanks guys!KP
October 26, 200421 yr It seems to be able to place any FS9 object you have the GUID for, including the stock generic objects and any third-party objects as well. To make the third-party objects work, you need the library bgl of the objects and the list of GUIDs for each in the simple XML format Rwy12 uses. It's pretty easy. And best of all, the compiled result is just a standard BGL, so it's fully portable to anyone with FS9 regardless of whether they have the program or not.
October 26, 200421 yr Gentlemen/Ladies, After a object is created and placed in the addon scenery /static scenery folder with this tool, no objects are visible in fs 2004.Thanking You,Best Regards,Aftab. AFTAB HINGORO
October 26, 200421 yr I found the problem. As usual it was me. I was slewing correctly where I wanted an object, I was using the "ADD" button but forgot everytime to presso "Get FS coordinate", so who know where the object was added.Working perfect now! Great addon, we really needed something like this.
October 26, 200421 yr Gentlemen / Ladies, Followed the user guide for this tool, as well as user's postings about how to make this tool work for everyone, still no objects are visible created with this tool in fs 2004.Thanking You,Best Regards,Aftab. AFTAB HINGORO

October 26, 200421 yr what about people who just want to download other peoples scenery, can that be done easily? in other words does it creat bgl files that i can share with my friends, or do they have to have the program installed for it to work as well?ciao!Brian S Ciao!
October 26, 200421 yr Gentlemen / ladies, The program can create predefined objects in Fs 2004 and is working.Thanking You,Best Regards,Aftab. AFTAB HINGORO
