I know there is probaly already a topic on this [...]

Then you'd know you're going to get a similar answer here as was provided there:

The VC is a lot less complex by its very design, so the computer won't be as loaded because the VC is easier to render.  Otherwise, it should be pretty similar.

At ngx mine only within the 30~35 fps and on weather like rain it will drop a few fps. Hope its ok for this product

It will be fine guys, I'm running the 777 on my machine just as good as the NGX, if not, better.

Really.. its fine!

Specs: MSI Z97 Gaming 7 | Intel i7 4970K OC @ 4.6GHz | Gigabyte GTX970 G1 4GB | 16GB (2X8GB) G.Skill Trident | Corsair Air 540 White Case | Corsair AX750 750W PSU | 27" Samsung SyncMaster 275T+ | 27" Samsung S27D850 | 13" Wacom Cintiq | Windows 10 Professional x64

30fps is perfect!

Thats the magic number for flying in full screen mode and the 1/2Vsync NVinspector setting!

30fps fixed in FSX + 1/2Vsync + full screen mode = smooth as silk!

(more than 30fps will be less smooth!)

2 years since the NGX, I am looking for performance improvements ;-)

+1.

NGX runs 40ish for me at cruise with too, too many clouds. Close to the ground, ehhh low-mid teens even with conservative display settings (the stupid mouse bug easily takes 5-10 FPS from me). I, too, am indeed worried about the 777.

(Part of the reason I much prefer 2d panels)

You guys need to understand that there are no miracle ways to make a VC and systems this complicated magically run a huge amount better than they do on the NGX in FSX. We're always making little optimizations here and there but FSX is 7 years old now and there's just limitations in the way it handles things. If we had a sim engine that benefited from new GPUs and stuff like that then things would be different. Fact is though you can't have something this detailed and expect something like MS default plane performance out of it - that's just not going to happen.

Kyle - you'd see better performance down low if you OCed your CPU. I have an i7 860 (similar to what you have) and I run it at 4.0 and get better than mid teens. Also, the first gen i7s are just getting old at this point (I built the core of my current machine 4 years ago this October) - the newer ones perform a lot better. I'll be building a Haswell system after we release the 777.

20FPS and I'm happy  ^_^

I love PC bulding it sounds fun wish it was more practical on a laptop. I have a wonderful GPU ati 7730M that performs pretty well (20-30 fps if I leave it unlimited) but after a recent update my 2d panels look jagged and fuzzy like FS2000 though 3D is superb. On that note I would like to ask if setting frame rates to unlimited or a high number drains your computer. I dont want to shorten my laptop's lifespan it's my everything :(

Ya just sitting and flying the PMDG 777 for fun while 200,000 flight simmers still have no 777.

Well by then the year will be 7290, and hopefully we'll all have such good systems, everybody will run the 777 smoothly.

No you can run any application on your computer full throttle without it damaging anything.

Overclocking can damage things but I am assuming you do not overclock.

If you updated your GPU driver and have worse performance than before, then just reinstall the old driver and turn automatic updating off!

Of course fair enough. I am still confused why the 747 seems to perform significantly better for me (most people the other way round) .

Quite true. I get the same frames on the 747 and NGX. The main difference though is that frames are much smoother on the 747.
