August 17, 201312 yr MV 737-200c Cargo Combi (If I may toss ours in the ring...) Hey Collin, are you guys planning a cargo version of the MU-2? I think that would fit the OP's request pretty well Really looking forward to that little hotrod. August 17, 201312 yr Is there a demo of this air hauler addon? Can you fly online with ATC and will it still work? http://www.simflight.com/2009/09/16/air-hauler-%E2%80%93-demo-now/ ZORAN
August 17, 201312 yr Hi Ryan, Yes you can definitely fly on-line when doing an Air Hauler flight. You set up your flight in Air Hauler; locations, aircraft, the job, etc, then when you launch it just goes into normal FSX and fly as normal; so you can do anything in FSX that you'd normally do including flying on VATSIM. Air Hauler just runs in the background; recording the success (or otherwise) of hte job you're undertaking. It's quite good fun but it would be so much better if you could see something in FSX while flying an Air Hauler flight; like some cargo placed on the ramp, etc. (Aerosoft Freight Dogs used to do this, and that was a 2004 addon, for FS9). Air Hauler itself is good fun, and sometimes I set up a company and just run the AI for my jobs, so it can also be more of just a 'management sim'. But once you're in FSX, it's just normal flying in FSX; theres no visibility of Air Hauler as such.
August 17, 201312 yr Aerologic 777F ... I think he's looking for add-on aircraft recommendations, not just people suggesting real life airlines. He's playing Air Hauler and looking for cargo aircraft recommendations.
August 19, 201312 yr http://www.simflight.com/2009/09/16/air-hauler-%E2%80%93-demo-now/ Yeah I tried that file gave me the error above... looks like their demo has timed out... | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
August 19, 201312 yr Don't forget the Captainsim C-130. It may not be the newest or have heavy systems, but fun to fly, short landing, Good for short or long haul, Especially if you use radio navigation, There is of course the stock GPS you can use for the flightplan if you don't. I'd second this.. the C-130 is great. It can easily make those small runways you have jobs to, and can do the distance at good speed. And it's on sale for 10 Euro's tomorrow. No clue what they run for in Air Hauler. One of the guys I fly with online takes his on round the world flights all the time (his company is worth multi-billions so he just buys bases as needed to complete it).
August 19, 201312 yr Air hauler is a tad expensive when Fs economy is free, or are they completely different? ZORAN
August 19, 201312 yr Air hauler is a tad expensive when Fs economy is free, or are they completely different? FSE is excellent, but Air Hauler adds a lot more functionality.
August 19, 201312 yr Author I ended up purchasing the Carenado C208. Great plane! I can't believe I've waited this long to get it. Way better than the default. As my AH company grows, I'll be in the market for something bigger and faster no doubt. That may be awhile, though. I had back to back "rough landings" today in bad weather, which is going to lead to a costly repair bill. The C208 really gets blown around!
August 19, 201312 yr I don't play Air Hauler but afer reading this thread it has definitely sparked an interest for me so I will have to look into it. It sounds like you're looking for something smaller than the C130 (which I also fly and despite some peoples views on CS I have to say I think it is a great add-on) and the C206/8 and Twotter were mentioned but it seems the Islander has been completely forgotten! Flight1 do a great version of it, I don't think it's very expensive anymore but I also regularly fly that all over the world and it is a fantastic plane to fly! Great STOL capabilities, rugged enough to handle any unprepared strips, and famous as a fantastic little lifter! I don't know quite how the Air Hauler system works in getting aircraft to "fly for your company" as it seems you have to buy the aircraft in the Air Hauler program? Either way, I couldn't help but mention the Islander after reading the thread. Stuart Gilmour
