August 19, 201312 yr Anyone know how much of a discount us TOPCAT owners will get? Nope sorry. Will be availible in a few days so then we know. Can PFPX be linked to FSX to show the plane on the map as well? Anyone knows? Best regards, Stefan van Hierden
August 19, 201312 yr Anyone know how much of a discount us TOPCAT owners will get? I have no true knowledge, but I suspect about 3 euros. The difference in cost between the TOPCAT/PFPX bundle and buying them separately amounts to 3.17 euros, so I would expect it makes up for the fact that TOPCAT owners can't take advantage of the bundle pricing. August 19, 201312 yr Author Rest assured guys this software makes you the dispatcher it will be awesome. This with Topcat I have already and Im set. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD http://fs2crew.com/banners/Banner_FS2Crew_MJC_Supporter.png Wayne HART
August 20, 201312 yr I wonder if it will be simple like FS build if all I want is a fuel load based on my route and weight. Alex Jevdic KORD/KHOT/KPWKA<380 love at first flight
August 20, 201312 yr It will not be simple, that I can I promise you It will be very advanced and suitable for those of us that wants dispatch and OFP as close to real life as possible. Check the videos available on Youtube, there are 4-5 of them and they show different aspects of PFPX in use.
August 20, 201312 yr I was gonna buy it until I saw this.... (www.simbrief.com) Now I am wondering if its even worth it to spend the money. You can't compare PFPX to simbrief. Simbrief is a (very) nice attempt to make something that looks similar to a real airline briefing package, but a large part of it is generic and not highly detailed. PFPX is in a league of their own. The only thing beating it is the real-world Lufthansa LIDO dispatch software suite. Just download the sample briefing package from the flightsimsoft website, create a package of the same route and a/c type in Simbrief and compare. You'll notice how different they are. Also be sure to check the full feature list... Regards, Frank van der Werff

I know it will be super advanced but I was wondering if there is an option for those who simply want an advanced fuel planner, if its more accurate than FSbuild then I'll get it, if its the same then I'll stick with FSB. While there are advanced features (such as re-dispatching etc.), it really isn't that hard to plan a route and get a fuel figure. It won't let you do something if that 'thing' would cause the calculation to be bogus (For example, adding too much 'Extra' Fuel, or planning no alternate when the fuel policy states an alternate is required). Once you play around with it a few times, and have a squizz over the manual you'll be sweet...and hooked (and never want to use your brain, a calculator and a peice of paper ever again!) I usually plan fuel with no alternates (failures disabled and my planes have CATIII autoland capability for bad wx) so I'll probably take its fuel figure and manually tweak it a bit while fueling the 777/737. I'll be impressed if I can upload my payload and route automatically to pfpx and then have it spit out a fuel figure within seconds, something that has to be manually done in FSB. By upload, do you mean obtain the way from FS with a utility such as FSUIPC? I have just been planning with a set ZFW, and then loading that weight in once I load in (i.e. Doing the planning 1 hour before I land so I can print off all the paperwork etc). Then I just look at the ZFW on the OFP and chuck it in the CDU (when flying the NGX). ...and regarding alternates, it just depends on the fuel policy being used (comes with around 8 including FAA, EU-OPS, ICAO, CASA etc.) For the FAA policy, you must have an alternate or it wont let you compute the plan. With the CASA, its only a requirement if weather is below alternate minima at your destination and you haven't planned 30/60mins holding fuel respectively. August 20, 201312 yr By upload, do you mean obtain the way from FS with a utility such as FSUIPC? Maybe, but what I'm talking about is having a button that says import aircraft data from FSX and boom the weights are there and then I can copy/paste the route in as well (which can be uploaded to the plane as a company route). i.e. Doing the planning 1 hour before I land so I can print off all the paperwork etc). Then I just look at the ZFW on the OFP and chuck it in the CDU (when flying the NGX). I do something similar but my planning takes 5 minutes, most of my preflight time involves setting up the cockpit up until pushback (I memorized the required fuel for my usual flights lol). For the FAA policy, you must have an alternate or it wont let you compute the plan. I'll put in an alternate if it cannot be bypassed for FAA but then I'll subtract the required fuel after a quick mental number crunch just before fueling.
