December 14, 201312 yr Neil, I had a problem with spiking a long time ago and saw no problem with the POT when in Windows 7x64 Game Controller Config. That put me to thinking and experimenting. It was a while back but I wrote it off as a USB 3.0 problem. I switched to a USB 2.0 port, disabled the controllers in FSX, set them up in FSUIP4; bang, no problems since. Others may have different problems/experience. Rick S.
December 15, 201312 yr I switched to a USB 2.0 port, disabled the controllers in FSX, set them up in FSUIP4; bang, no problems since. That amounts to three significant changes. I am interested here. Did you make all three changes at the same time? Or one at a time? I am most interested in learning whether you attempted using a USB 3.0 port with the FSX controllers disabled and controls set up in FSUIPC4. January 2, 201412 yr I've also been running CH pedals for almost ten years, although my CH yoke dies after just 3 years. Now running a Saitek yoke and throttle which has never been right, even after 2 replacements. There are also definite problems running off USB3 ports on my Saitek yoke and throttle. Wish I could find replacement pots for the throttles tho:-( Windows 10 (x64) - X-Plane 11 - M/B: Asus ROG Maximus IX Hero - CPU: i7 7700k (@5.0GHz) - RAM: 32Gb Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 @ 3200MHz - Video: GTX1080ti - Cooling: Custom water loop (EK 140 Revo D5 pump/res combo, EK EVO CPU block, EK XE360 Rad)
January 2, 201412 yr Still using and loving my CH pedals I think I've had my pedals for about 15 years or so, cant rightly remember but it was my first gaming peripheral that used USB. Guess I've been lucky because I also have the Saitek Pro Flight yoke, bought it when they first hit the market 6 or seven years ago, and after 100's upon 100's of flights they are both still working great. January 3, 201412 yr Just looked at Amazon. The standard Saitek Yoke is $121.42 and pedals are $96. The Cessna yoke is $179.99 and the pedals are $192.27. Is the Cessna version really that much better?? Tom
January 3, 201412 yr The Cessna Pro Flight have gone up a bit. I looked back and found I paid $163.53 for each in April of 2012. I went to a Fry's store in California and looked at both the standard and the Cessna Pro Flight. The Cessna Pro Flight pedals were clearly better made. Better materials, etc. The yokes were more similar but the Cessna is a more recent design. I liked it much better. The only thing I liked better about the standard yoke was the built in clock-timer. I already had a small aviation clock-timer from Sporty's and ordered a strap-on yoke (column) mount from them and have it mounted nicely to my Cessna yoke. Also, I know the Cessna version has small threaded brass bushings for mounting other Saitek modules to the yoke. I honestly cannot recall if the standard Saitek also has those bushings. I have mounted a Saitek Multi-Panel to mine (see below), BTW, I just looked at Amazon and the price I see for the Cessna Pro Flight Yoke is the $179.99 price you mentioned, but I see the Cessna pedals there for the same price. $179.99. January 4, 201412 yr Hi All, Let me tell about my experiences with my hardware. First, I had used CH products exclusively, those being a Flightsim yoke, Pro pedals, and Throttle quadrant. The problem I had with all three was that they would jitter and not give smooth on-screen motion. After trying everything I could think of I finally connected them to a powered hub. Problem solved. Everything was smooth and no jittering or jumping. This past year I replaced the CH yoke with a Saitek Proflight yoke and guess what? The jitter returned (with the yoke only). I tried to plug it into the powered hub but when I do, the yoke is not recognized. I then am forced to use a USB connector direct from the motherboard. The CH pedals and Throttle quadrant are still connected through the powered hub and work fine. Sure would like to find a solution to the jittering yoke. Don't know why it won't work when connected to a powered hub. I've connected it to both 2.0 and 3.0 USB connections with no difference. Any suggestions would be welcomed. Jim
January 4, 201412 yr Jim, I have the Cessna Pro Flight Yoke. I assume the Pro Flight you use has a DIN connector to which the throttle quadrant connects. So the USB connection must be able to power both. My yoke, like yours, seems unable to do that when connected to an external powered hub. However, consistent with your experience I find no issues when I connect to a USB port on my CPU. Go figure! If you read my September 10th post above you then also read that I had issues with two different Saitek external power supplies for the yoke. Strange issue where the yoke seems to be receiving less power when the Saitek external power supply is used. I sent one of the external power supplies to another member here and he had the same experience with it (less power). All that said, there have been multiple users report issues connecting the yoke to a USB 3.0 hub. I would hazard a guess there is something odd in the interface.
