Caution Light issue?

Featured Replies

Yup. Came up at completion of pushback with GSX. After engine 2 start and before engine one start. Also received audible. Unable to reset.

I've noticed too that you can't clear pilot notifications.

I had the caution light in and when I didn't turn off centre fuel tanks it went into yellow then red notification mode. I can clear the audible but not the text on display.

..- I also disconnected autopilot on a test flight and could not get the RED message dissapear or the disconnect tone

From the introduction manual, section 'THE PMDG 777-200LR/F DIDN’T DO WHAT YOU EXPECTED?':

Q) I turned off the autopilot, but I can’t silence the alarm:

A) You need to press the autopilot disconnect button on your joystick (or the Z key) twice in order to silence the alarm. Make the first press, wait a second or two and then press it again. If you double-press too fast, it won’t silence. Always use the disconnect button, don’t use the disconnect “bar” on the MCP – you’ll have the siren constantly going off if you do.

On aircraft with the RESETTABLE SIREN option set to NO, pressing the master warning button on the glareshield will not stop the alarm

The panel states were added pretty late in the beta test period. We didn't catch this one. I can't speak for PMDG but I think the cold and dark panel state has something twitchy in it and recommend you build your own cold and dark state.

My preference is to start from a state where ground air/power is applied and ADIRS is aligned, seems most realistic.

I agree with your second point. Once loading cold + dark I realized the battery was insufficient to power the CDUs (normally). So how was I supposed to get external power? Only after 5 minutes of pressing buttons I realized you can "power" the CDU by pressing and holding the Menu key. This won't give you any plane functions, it'll just let you access the PMDG Setup and FS Actions to connect ground power.

Seems to me that the GPU should always be connected, anyway, once a panel state like that is loaded. I'll be making my own until PMDG can fix theirs with the Caution light, and I highly suggest them adding a connected GPU in the default C+D state.

That sounds like a good plan.
