Where Is Your 777 Now?

Featured Replies

I didn't think it was that good! Like I said earlier, I'll try to recreate it. Should be an interesting challenge!

Juan...it's epic!  Something about how you caught it just right...it REALLY moved me...its like, even though its a still image..when I first scrolled to it, I got the intense visual impression it was rocketing towards me...kinda' like people say the Mona Lisa's eyes seem to follow them around the room.

It's not often a screen will have that kind of visceral impact on my senses, but that one sure did!

And Steve, I'd like to say you're really the first person that cares about your livery developments; and that's important

Naw not really, there are a lot of EXCELLENT painters out there...and one for SURE is the man who's metal you're lookin' at.

This is what I'm adding to the readme.txt file of this paint:

Metal textures by Xudeva Irribarra

I'd like to personally thank Xudeva for his permission to use his excellent metal textures he developed for the POSKY 767 on his outstanding Florida West Cargo paint.
This PMDG 777 and every other metal plane I paint would not have happened without his textures.  Please visit his downloads at Avsim at:
He is an excellent painter and contributes as I do to our wonderful community.

So you just have to look for the good guys, but I really applaud every contributor to our hobby...even the ones with ONE upload to any flightsim forum.  Its that spirit of giving that keep this hobby and community going strong, and I'm just fortunate I can give what I do, and have an excellent venue like Avsim to host my uploads on.
Its something I really enjoy, and the interactions I have with my fellow simmers is something I cherish..I've learned so much, and its uncanny how sometimes we share some freaky coincidental life experiences.
One in particular (that many probably don't know) is that me and Tom A....yes THAT Tom... both worked on the SH-3 Seaking helicopter as avionics techs!  I mean...figure the odds!
Another simmer I'm painting a few personal paints for was in Capadichio (Naples) Italy in the travel industry.  Turns out I was stationed there when I was in the Navy!  We talked about Vesuvius and the Napes area...go figure!  Imram...one of your fellow check airman took his last Tiger flight into Karachi, Pakistan.  Guess where else I've been in the Navy?  Its almost like things are coming full circle 25 years after I got out of the Navy (yeah, I'm that old).

Anyway...thanks for the complement, I'm just a painter who likes to have fun painting, and involve the community when I can to generate interest and fun, and to get these kinda stories going.  Tom can relate when I say they are similar to what we used to call in the Navy "Sea Stories" LoL.

Steve Dra

Just to break up all you freight dogs, here's a quick picture I found on my laptop of ANA01 prepping to head home.

I haven't been home for the last couple of weeks, but when I do get back I'm going to absolutely flood this thread with pictures. I miss my T7! :(

Beautiful shots Davey!  You caught the sun just right.  I'm guessing an early morning departure right after sunrise?

I don't know why I'm so drawn (pun intended) to that livery....maybe its that you don't see many liveries with a full cheat line over the windows anymore (I know its way more expensive to paint...all that masking!  Speaking of which, I've heard that some painters quit when they find out they have to mask an Air India 747!  :LMAO:

Stunning as ever!

I have the shot from the first set of images I've ever captured and posted onto Avsim.

This shows just how much factors come into play with screenshotting. One that really matters would be zoom

With .30 zoom:

Hey Juan,

That is an interesting observation...I'll have to try it on my next series of shots.  :P   (inside joke between me and Juan for all of you out there who may be wondering).

Chics...Stunning as usual on the Green Giant!  You have certainly earned a dirty bird, and she's in the hopper...she'll be nice and dirty when I get her to you if you keep flying her at this rate! LoL

Hey Davey, yes very nice color combination on that TAG.

I think there a documentary on the 747 that shows them painting an Air India...can't even imagine the masking job on that beast!

Resting on the ground in Beijing. I'm taking her back to Dubai tonight.

Now I gotta decide where to take her tomorrow, these planes are so high maintenance!
