October 15, 201312 yr Very pleased with 777 however I'm getting frequent skeleton effect (aircraft with no skin or walls), I am using hi end PC with digital HD and 6gig of memory. In researching forum, seems that several users reported similar issues, solved by re installing FSX sp2 and or Acceleration. I want to do same, is it best to uninstall previous install in my case Acceleration then install it again, or just install over old install, Will this process harm any installs or 3rd party aircraft or sceneries, which I have, would prefer not to have to reinstall completely FSX with all add ons. Advice would be appreciated, thanks, Ray Vlasek

October 15, 201312 yr Commercial Member Hi, It won't make any difference, as PMDG do not replace core simulator files. Best regards, Robin.
October 17, 201312 yr Advice would be appreciated, thanks,Do as VLJ510 suggested. That should fix it. Do not reinstall FSX or Acceleration! Rob Robson
October 17, 201312 yr Re Installing fsx is the last resort as same as the t7 I7-8700k,Corsair h1101 cooler ,Asus Strix Gaming Intel Z370 S11 motherboard, Corsair 32gb ramDD4,, gtx 1080ti Card, RM850 power supply Peter kelberg
October 17, 201312 yr You could try an AffinityMask entry in your fsx.cfg to free up one core for processing textures. But the effect will probably be only marginal and could bring disadvantages in other situations. Not really recommended with W7 and FSX fully patched (SP1 + SP2). What happened to AVSIM
October 17, 201312 yr Open your fav repaint in an editor, resize the texture resolution to a lower one. ( 2048, or 1024, not 4096 as they currently are.) Regards Luke M

October 17, 201312 yr "Is highmemfix=1 in you FSX.cfg" Does nothing This bird is a heavy hitter and I think skeleton is a serious problem and I put a ticket in with pmdg but no answer from them so not good Rich Sennett

It should actually do something and is the general fix for this sort of thing. -stefan
October 17, 201312 yr Not at home right now but this is not the problem - A brand new pc build - new fsx install bare bones nothing added but service packs and the 777 no ai no clouds - same problem Rich Sennett
October 17, 201312 yr I know. Same issue here. Aircraft with that, along with poor poor FPS is un-flyable for me. I have a pretty good system also with minimum addons installed. I have done all the recommendations from PMDG, and still no success. Sucks when you think about this thing almost costing me $100. I hope they release a patch soon, because not even the JS4100 in Seattle has the poor performance I get as with this bird. William Sequeira
October 17, 201312 yr Same here William worse part is this is the only bird I want to use exclusively so not happy, going to build my new 3730k with 32 gig of ram with titan on the Gigabytes flagship mb Z77x-UP7 this weekend if that doesn't work nothing will - should be interesting I am thinking it will not help but I want to rule out a bad motherboard as everything else is brand new including my titan card - well see Rich Sennett
October 17, 201312 yr I even thought about trying to resize, but the thing is, I don't use 4096 textures, so I don't ever load them. 2048 is the highest I use and have never had an issue. I have turned down the refresh rates on the displays and all. William Sequeira
October 17, 201312 yr Not at home right now but this is not the problem - A brand new pc build - new fsx install bare bones nothing added but service packs and the 777 no ai no clouds - same problemBrand new PC has nothing to do with it. You have to manually add the "highmem" fix to the FSX.cfg. It is a fix (and not a tweak) and the PMDG777 requires it and it is not in the FSX.cfg file UNLESS you type it in there! Go to: First make sure that hidden files and folders are displayed. Then go to C/Users/your user name/App Data/Roaming/Microsoft/FSX dubbel click on the FSX.cfg (you can open it with notepad if asked) then under [Graphics] add Highmemfix=1 close and save the edited FSX.cfg file. This should solve your problem. If not then something else is going on....but first make sure you have highmemfix in there! "Is highmemfix=1 in you FSX.cfg" Does nothing This bird is a heavy hitter and I think skeleton is a serious problem and I put a ticket in with pmdg but no answer from them so not good I have almost the same PC you do. No such problems here. Just recheck you did that highmemfix correctly please! I know. Same issue here. Aircraft with that, along with poor poor FPS is un-flyable for me. I have a pretty good system also with minimum addons installed. I have done all the recommendations from PMDG, and still no success. Sucks when you think about this thing almost costing me $100. Did you get PMDG support or do you mean you tried everything in the intro guide? Your PC should run the 777 just fine. Sure you might have to back off with AI traffic/Autogen/crazy scenery addons....but so do I with an i7 3770k. Same for you, make sure Highmemfix is in there correctly (at the correct place!) Besides having a skeleton aircraft (highmemfix should take care of that) what other performance problems do you have? Rob Robson
