Yes I get a tall, narrow recording recording that is nothing like my screen's aspect ratio.

 

EDIT: Tried playing it in VLC player which let me change the aspect ratio and it looks OK.

 

You may not have seen my earlier post - I discovered that any form of "non-square" super sampling (like 1x2) causes ShadowPlay to distort the aspect ratio. You might be able to squeeze it into a media player window but the source file is still recorded incorrectly.

 

So to fix this, just set FSX to a 2x2 super sample or just regular MSAA and it records fine. I reported the issue on the official Nvidia forums so hopefully it gets fixed in the future, because it did work fine in the previous version.

Thanks! Yes I missed the earlier post about it. I'll try 8xSQ and see how that goes.

No luck with 8xSQ (even though it says it's 2x2 SS), the aspect is too wide and short.

 

I tried 4x Multi Sample and that looks good. Fingers crossed that Nvidia fixes it so I can go back to 8xS.

I am pretty impressed so far! For a total NOOB at video recording, I was able to install Shadow Play 1.8 and record

a 30 minute video of me landing the NGX at EHAM with no problems or FPS drop! (EVGA GTX 780, OC i7).

 

Biggest problem was that I had to shut off virus protection to be able to download 1.8 update.

It stops recording when I open the Air Traffic Control (ATC) dialog window....hey?

and it stops recording when I go to 4x speed....

I also found it recorded a stretched box, glad I read through this thread, I will try changing the inspector settings, as far as recording I didn't even know it was until I looked in the folder the recording was in, far better than frapps for smoothness.

well my view frame is still overly tall and stretched, I've tried avi to mpeg 4 converters and they just stretch it the other way, I would love to be able to get this working properly to put some more youtube vids up.

What is your antialiasing set to in Inspector?

4 x sparse grid super sampling & 8 x SQ

Switch to 16xS for recording videos, that works fine, or the default FSX antialiasing (which is 4x MSAA i think)

1.8.1 was released... TWITCH TV SUPPORT !!

Unfortunately, the damn voltage problem is not yet resolved.
