January 31, 201511 yr I've been in the cockpit/cabin of every single 737 in my company fleet, multiple times... Cumulative time of greater than 5,000 hours roughly. You don't hear me whinging like a girl about cockpit geometry! Nor will you see me using it as a credential. Just fly the bloody thing... seriously! Set 20 failures per 10 hours of flying, dispatch with an inoperative system, and only fly sectors with a flight time of less than 1Hr 30mins... see how much time you have to whinge about cockpit geometry then! If I came across the likes of you girls around the traps, I would expend every effort within the confines of the law to keep you the hell away from aircraft. It's probably a good thing that many of you will only ever spend 5 mins in a mostly shutdown and secured aircraft! Cockpit geometry... Pfft! Brian Nellis. You Sir, deserve a price. Fully agree with you. Just fly this beautiful aircraft! Philipp Schwaegerl

HA theres a program for that its called FS2Crew eventhough i dont need it. i know how to shutdown and secure the aircraft perfectly fine www.alaskaair-virtual.org,swavirtual.com, Ramp lead @ Phoenix Sky Harbor, Loving the simming and aviation industry <SCRIPT LANGUAGE='JavaScript' SRC='http://www.jetphotos.com/jp_forum_sign.php?photogid=75760' TYPE='text/javascript'></SCRIPT> Alex Kulak
February 1, 201511 yr Looking forward to the new cockpit geometry fixes for the flight deck :-). Have PMDG officially announced a geometry fix?
February 1, 201511 yr Have PMDG officially announced a geometry fix? they havent officially announced anything yet. the NGX SP2 was started by like jetflier last year sometime www.alaskaair-virtual.org,swavirtual.com, Ramp lead @ Phoenix Sky Harbor, Loving the simming and aviation industry <SCRIPT LANGUAGE='JavaScript' SRC='http://www.jetphotos.com/jp_forum_sign.php?photogid=75760' TYPE='text/javascript'></SCRIPT> Alex Kulak

February 2, 201511 yr PMDG once stated that the windows geometry were an option to fit the HUD, but they are reconsidering resizing it... I think a post comparing PMDG and real world pictures would be nice...
February 2, 201511 yr PMDG once stated that the windows geometry were an option to fit the HUD, but they are reconsidering resizing it... I think they should make the non HGS setting with the geometry fix, and the HGS setting without so that the HGS can work properly as PMDG stated. If they did that, it would give those of us that want the windows fixed a peace of mind. I personally don't fly with the HGS, its just a gimmick as far as I am concerned.
February 2, 201511 yr I personally don't fly with the HGSI have the HGS disabled on all of the NGXs that I use. Michael Cubine
February 2, 201511 yr HGS is great and an effective tool. It reduces minima (regulatory approval required), improves and can negate outside-to-panel transitions, enhances CRM and flight performance during the critical phases (takeoff-pitch rate and tail strike cue; landing-sink rate and runway tracking in low vis; all phases-tcas resolution cues while keeping a lookout), just to name a few benefits. But I get bored of it too. I fly from the FO's side when I do. Many airlines mandate it's use during approach landing and takeoff, even more so in low vis and when using low RNP AR values. But I'm grateful that, not only is it available, but it is fully functional, and as far as I believe, it behaves like the real HGS 4000. You can even hit the CLR button to blank the combiner when taxiing at night! Winning! Hardly a gimmick... Brian Nellis. Brian Nellis
February 2, 201511 yr I think they should make the non HGS setting with the geometry fix, and the HGS setting without so that the HGS can work properly as PMDG stated. Ryan has already stated that that is not an option. It's going to be one cockpit model either way, wether they get it to work or not. Name available upon request
February 2, 201511 yr Ryan has already stated that that is not an option. It's going to be one cockpit model either way, wether they get it to work or not. Ah ok.
February 3, 201511 yr i hope the SP2 comes out in april or may www.alaskaair-virtual.org,swavirtual.com, Ramp lead @ Phoenix Sky Harbor, Loving the simming and aviation industry <SCRIPT LANGUAGE='JavaScript' SRC='http://www.jetphotos.com/jp_forum_sign.php?photogid=75760' TYPE='text/javascript'></SCRIPT> Alex Kulak
February 4, 201511 yr SP2 won't come along for quite some time yet. The "SP" currently in development is not SP2, but an addition onto SP1d, as was explained in Robert's post in the General Subforum. Name available upon request
February 8, 201511 yr so is SP1D an update just for FSX? www.alaskaair-virtual.org,swavirtual.com, Ramp lead @ Phoenix Sky Harbor, Loving the simming and aviation industry <SCRIPT LANGUAGE='JavaScript' SRC='http://www.jetphotos.com/jp_forum_sign.php?photogid=75760' TYPE='text/javascript'></SCRIPT> Alex Kulak
