Does this fix the ORBX black squares from some of their static aircraft libraries?

Checked ORBX PAJN: unfortunately not solved, even with the new  FTXORBXLIBS_131027.

Just redownloaded the fixer from the FSS and it is version 1.1 build 24. , follow the post from Mazo's post no.9 above on reinstalling the fixer and you can't go wrong.

Cheers Rod.

Hi Wulf: John V is aware of the issue, and he and the individual authors are working with Steve, not only to fix those squares, but to create some system/method for upgrading the dev groups skillsets in areas where DX10 "gotcha's" can easily and unknowingly occur.

The knowledge required to write code for FSX - DXv9 has been around for almost ten years, but until Steve came along - with the patches last June - July, there was almost zero effort made by any developer to produce any FSX - DX10 compatible code, (why should they? - it didn't work!) ... so it's a "learning experience" for pretty much all of them, and they only find out there's a problem when a DX10 user brings it up.

Anyway - All the Best,

That's the real challenge.  Keep at it gents!

Hi

I installed DX10 Scenery fixer in a directory NEAR FSX one, not inside FSX one, and FSX is installed on a separate SSD with "L:" letter.

as follows:

"

L:\fsx

L:\DX10SceneryFixer

"

So, how do I proceed to install the new version? Do I need uninstalling the libraries and then unistall the program? Or may I install the new version above the current?

By the way, is it better to wait for 1.1 25 update?

Thanks.

Patrice.

See my post #9 above showing Steve's recommended procedure.

Hi Lyn,

My case is not described in post #9, so why I ask the question.

And what about waiting for the next version instead of using the #24?

Thanks.

Patrice.

I'm not sure why you think that Steve's procedure won't work for your setup.Your installation is in proper location as is your FSX so I don't see an issue.

I would wait for the latest version to be released this week instead of  having to upgrade twice, even though it's not a biggie to upgrade! I'll be upgrading as soon as the new version is released.

Good luck with your upgrade!

Lyn

Thanks Lyn, I got the #26 version and installed it with no problems (for the moment).

Great! Glad it is working for you.

Now I have to go and get Build #26! Thanks for the heads up as I didn't expect it today.
