November 9, 201312 yr http://www.ixeg.net/blog/item/32-project-status Saturday, 09 November 2013 12:03 PROJECT STATUS We are not dead! Project is still very much alive! The 3D work is nearly complete but some tedious work remains, like the flap mechanisms, transmission boxes, torque tubes, elements of the landing gear and wheel wells also. We would guess the 3D is 95% complete. The cockpit texturing is slow going at the moment though so we are reluctant to do any movie updates until that work is further along and is the major reason for the lack of video updates as we focus on other parts that also need attention. We are filling in small system functionality that required some custom sounds and we are integrating our new 3D spatial sound engine which took some time to write and now sounds come from where they are supposed to. For example, if you turn on the hydraulic pumps, you cannot hear them from the cockpit, but if you walk down the cabin, you'll hear them as you pass over the wingbox area, same for the flap actuations. Gyro sounds come from the gyros, Noise energy from air-drag emanates from the flaps as flaps are deployed, etc. For the curious, the most recent work performed was to model up the IRS DC alarm system, which is quite a loud alarm. If, on the ground, an IRS unit reverts to DC system because the AC busses it normally uses is not powered for some reason, perhaps the pilot was texting and forgot to power the AC busses... then the IRS unit will begin to drain the battery at a rate worthy of attention. For this reason, a loud alarm sounds to let the pilot know so they can take appropriate action. Also, there is other time-delay functionality associated with the IRS units but you will have to dig into the FCOManual to get those particulars. Current work is adding new sounds, working on the remaining 3D and programming smaller and simple systems. As soon as a few more areas are addressed, we have two additional sneak-peek videos planned.

November 9, 201312 yr Just had a peek at the w.i.p. pictures in the gallery on their site. Outstanding. That cockpit is the most realistic thing I've ever seen in any sim. Passenger jets are not usually my thing but this one I think I will get. Still no release estimate of any kind, like this year or not? i910900k, RTX 3090, 32GB DDR4 RAM, AW3423DW, Ruddy girt big mug of Yorkshire Tea
November 9, 201312 yr I'm more looking forward to hearing this plane than flying it if the sound system is as detailed as described. Passenger jets are not usually my thing but this one I think I will get. Still no release estimate of any kind, like this year or not? I would really be surprised if it is released this year or even first half of 2014 in that matter. Anyway this masterpiece is worth waiting... I'm buying X-Plane when this comes out! Buy it now and get LES Saab 304A while waiting for the 737! Simply amazing. Jan Betlach
