  • I agree, Taxi2Gate is one of the top scenery developers in my opinion. I don't own the Mexico City yet but I have most of their earlier products and I find them very good too.

MMMX is now on sale at SimMarkets and I'm tempted. But with the problem of crashes reported in the review Jim linked to and others also reporting them can anyone advise if this is worth buying please?

The developer seems very talented but support does appear patchy. In the event of a problem I would want to know he actively supports his products. Three days before replying to one query doesn't fill me with confidence.

I fly with crash detection off, but I think the developers never fully fixed the issue and you can run into invisible walls. the scenery is nice though, I personally do not enable the photoscenery as I find it ugly during the day and night. Everything else is great.

Thanks for your reply. I always have crash detection off mainly because of unintelligent Ai that want to cut right through you. I'm not a lover of photoscenery either and it's good to hear it can be disabled.

So ignoring those two issues the airport gets the thumbs up, good. Another destination for Concorde.

I've yet to take the plunge Dave. Just my cautious nature. I have seen enough screenshots to tell me it's detailed enough. Just a little concerned about the relative poor standard of support. But Orlando has been fine so I suppose I should just man up!

Tomorrow probably. Supersonic hops to and from Orlando and KIAH beckon.

MMMX is an amazing scenery by this developer.

It was a day one purchase for me and I've never regretted it.  Amazing detail and performance is great.

Enjoy.

Just completed the install and a test flight in Concorde from KIAH. Airport scenery is very good with fps staying near the max I've set of 45. I also appreciate the moving jetways without having to purchase AES credits. Nice touch.

But with winds from the north that meant a 05R landing and that high ground to the SW of the airfield makes approaches from the NW pretty hairy. MSA of 13,200 but you then need to get down to 9,300 for the glideslope within 10 miles or so. Maybe I need to approach from the SE instead.

LATER: Just checked the Jeppeson charts and I was too far west on the downwind leg. Easily rectified next time.
