Baron Comparison

Featured Replies

Dan,

It you are just itching for another GA twin, I recommend you look at the Carenado 337H and the RealAir Piston Duke B60 v2.  If you want something a little larger but still a GA twin the Carenado 340 and C90 are good choices.  Of course, the Milviz C310 is an excellent candidate. A little larger and you can move to the Flight1 BN-2 and you should also take at look at the RealAir Turbine Duke.

I do recommend the Carenado Baron with the Turbo addition and cockpit sound package.  Someone has a full Turbo download, provided you already own the Carenado B58 and it very nice and flies well.

All those recommendations are backed up from my research for the avsim review linked above, except the C340 and I like it also.

Not a twin, but if you want something slick, fast, fun, and a joy to hand-fly look no further than the RealAir Legacy.

Now, once you have mastered that bunch, you really owe it to yourself to checkout the new Flight1 B200 Super King Air. Now this is a handful of serious fun and has just about everything and anything you can imagine should be included in a modern FSX add on.  The avsim review is in work but PC Pilot has a great review written by a KA driver that also writes reviews for FSX and someone else has an earlier review.  Google it.  Everyone recommends it.

I have them both and the Milviz B55/E55 is clearly superior in all aspects, even physical appearance which is usually Carenado's strength.  I never fly the Carenado Baron anymore.  By the way the Milviz B55/E55 had a problem with the ADF not pointing correctly to the tuned NDB. which they have just recently fixed with a SP.  You can check it out on their forum.

The SP2 for the B-55 is now up on our sales site.  It has been sent to the portals.  Not sure when it will go up but probably within 5 days.

Thanks for your patience on that one...

Thanks again to all for your input.  Sounds like it's time for me to update my Baron too.  Thanks for that note too.

Check out Greenbrier Aero Club, the VA for and about the GA pilot.

I have the Carenado B58 Baron, but not MilViz's B55.  I do have the MilViz Cessna 310R.  Two different aircraft, I know, but the accuracy of the models, attention to detail, and flight model fidelety are worlds apart.  I can tell you that the Carenado Baron is nice, the external model is superb, but the virtual cockpit panel falls just a little short when it comes to flying at night as it is missing backlighting in several spots and the transponder... well, there is a freeware transponder that I used to replace the Carenado unit.  The flight model is better than the stock FSX Baron, but I don't think it is up to the standards displayed by MilViz.  Personally, I think you already have the better choice of Barons.

My computer: ABS Gladiator Gaming PC featuring an Intel 10700F CPU, EVGA CLC-240 AIO cooler (dead fans replaced with Noctua fans), Asus Tuf Gaming B460M Plus motherboard, 16GB DDR4-3000 RAM, 1 TB NVMe SSD, EVGA RTX3070 FTW3 video card, dead EVGA 750 watt power supply replaced with Antec 900 watt PSU.

The SP2 for the B-55 is now up on our sales site.

Yes - but where on the Sales site?

(Sorry, RB - I'm blind in one eye, and can't see out of the other....)

All the Best,

You Da Man!

Thank you, and thanks too, for two great piston twins - the 310 in particular, conveying just the right amount of pucker factor during a slow approach...   B)

In checking the purchase docs for both aircraft, it looks like I bought them from Flight!, RB, so I would need to go there to download the SP. I assume there are no issues with Flight1, and that they will have the SP?

I merely ask as I have been bitten twice by buying from a distributor. Just Flight and Captain Sim (both over 10 years ago, but I have a looooong memory...  )

All the Best,
