I have lost the count of the times I've had to deal with all kinds of random crap that just had to happen on final approach... I mean... things that had hours and hours of chance to come up... no... it all needs to happen on a tense IMC landing after a 10 hour flight.

 

I just tell myself when turning on final "what karmatic thing is it going to be this time?!"

 

Gotta love this meme really... so true.

Wives also know when the flight deck is sterile. They use that time to kick in the door and do what they do.

Yes, and if my wife is out of the house, she will still call on short final. Every time. But she also brings the captain milk and cookies :lol:

 

This dog is really small, and insists on laying on my arm or trying to march around on the keyboard for the entire flight. So this is an un-posed picture. The only hard part was getting her to look away from the screen!

Hey, my wife's attempts to create an air tragedy are nothing compared to the assault I must endure from my two little kids... they will each grab one of my arms at the worst possible time ... I swear it all starts when they hear the gpws call of "500"...  that call just starts the frenzy ...

 

they should study this matter formally, really.

It took me many years to explain why I can't just hit "P" and resume the approach 10 minutes later .....

 

She would say "It kinda spoils WHAT? A nonexistent airplane landing on an imaginary runway? Cool!"
