Hi David,

Welcome to the team! (Wohoo, I'm not the youngest team member anymore)

To start with, you will need the FS-Duenna for flight tracking (downloads are at the bottom of the page, you need both the "Full installation Rev. 44" and "Update Rev. 131"), as well as TeamSpeak 3 and FSHostClient for communications and multiplayer. For Teamspeak we use the AVSIM server. For multiplayer we use our own server on a VPN, which you'll get all the necessary information to access when you've been added to the RTW Race Team group. Before adding you however, we usually request that new racers first perform a practice leg, to show a bit of commitment.

So check out the rules, get the programs, and the you're ready for a practice leg!

I'm going to see if I can dig up an old setup guide to help you. Of course, if you have any issues setting it all up, just ask anyone!

Hi David,

Also would like to welcome you to the team!

If you will, please read the posts I have made in the following thread: New RTRW Racers Info - 2013-14

For the past year or two, the Race Committee has posted a Whitelist of Race Aircraft. I have updated the above thread to now show the Whitelist for the 2013 RTWR Race Eligible Aircraft to give you a good idea of what aircraft are typically used.

Any other questions, please let us know.

Happy to join in on the confusion!

Contrary to a misplaced preconception by one who will be nameless, I will not be partaking in this prestigious event. I do however, wish Godspeed to all who sally forth into untold dangers.

It is a far, far better thing you do, than you have ever done. (I just made that last bit up) B)

The World is divided into two groups. Those who say "Give me a link" and those that provide the link. WWG1WGA

( Experience in Flightsim ) quite good, but not mastered  I am alright with all planes with 1 nose gear wheel, for taxiing purposes and prefer smaller jets, (eg. Dornier 328 JET, Falcon 7X, lear 45 etc.)

( Timezone =/- UTC ) GMT/UTC +/- 0

if its twinprops only would the Dornier 328 PROP be ok?

Hi TJ,

Sounds good.

I would suggest then being at the practice session today (Feb 8th) to make sure you are up to speed (as it were) with the allowed race planes, correct Duenna and such, and practicing "passing the baton".  This would be the opportune time to ensure you are good to go for the race next Saturday.

Roman posted something about starting at 1400z - I think some are planning a couple hours later... hope to see you there.
