December 30, 201312 yr Hello! Since yesterday I can't access the forum via Tapatalk app in iPhone. There are any problem? Yes, there is. We removed Tapatalk, so you are not going to get that anymore. Suggest you log in using the AVSIM Mobile theme which you can switch to at the bottom of any page.
December 30, 201312 yr Author Oh! Very bad news!!! :( I love Tapatalk... Is very very useful, fast, data saver, and more... I visit Avsim always on Tapatalk... The Last Topics function is very good... I'm afraid... José Fco. December 30, 201312 yr Look at it this way Jose. You will walk into fewer lamposts now, which has to be a good thing, yes? The World is divided into two groups. Those who say "Give me a link" and those that provide the link. WWG1WGA

Just curious. I'm aware that Tapatalk seems to have been an ongoing problem with Avsim. Am I correct in assuming that you have to run some kind of additional process on your server to allow Tapatalk users to connect? I.e. The Tapatalk client is not just an alternate "forum viewer" but interacts with Tapatalk-specific services at your end? If so, and if those additional server-side processes are contributing to the connectivity issues, I can't blame you for shutting them down, but it is unfortunate, as Tapatalk does provide a lot of functionality in forum browsing not available via the mobile browser HTML interface. Any thought been given to supporting the ForumRunner mobile app? Or does that introduce the same server-side issues that Tapatalk apparently does? Yes, it requires a fairly intrusive additional layer of application and hook running on our system, which also impacts efficiency of access to the databases and other areas of the system. We tried ForumRunner. It was just as problematic.

We tried ForumRunner. It was just as problematic. I was afraid of that. Oh well, though I'll miss using Tapatalk, I'd rather have the forums accessible for all users reliably, even if that means doing without. Ya gotta do what ya gotta do! December 31, 201312 yr Author I wish for 2014 that Tapatalk comes back!!! José Fco. January 3, 201412 yr +1. I'm bummed to be losing it. So convenient to be able to check multiple forums quickly.
January 4, 201412 yr Well that sucks. One of the reasons I got the pro verison of tapatalk was for avsim. Jorge Sanchez - KMIA@iJorge511
January 4, 201412 yr Not good news at all! All my posting and reading here for the last 2 years was done with Tapatalk! Defenitly the most comfortable way to browse on an iOS device...
January 4, 201412 yr As convenient as Tapatalk may be on my iPod - I really appreciate that it's been disabled, access via computer (which I believe is the preferred method) is much more stable now. Besides, the mobile version isn't much different from Tapatalk, as far as I can judge. It's only a bit less comfortable if you visit other forums as well IMO. Florian
January 4, 201412 yr +1 for Tapatalk coming back, the mobile theme just doesn't seem to work on my S3. G Gary Davies aka "Gazzareth" Simming since 747 on the Acorn Electron
January 4, 201412 yr +1 for Tapatalk coming back, the mobile theme just doesn't seem to work on my S3. G Same here, the mobile theme doesn't quite work sadly. Oh well, there you go. Resigned to visiting from desktop only now, sadly, it still takes forever to load at some times of the day. Give Avsim time, they may just work it all out and get on top of what is obviously a troubling problem.
