January 12, 201412 yr Yes, Bernt models are great indeed! January 13, 201412 yr How is the Tomahawk in X-Plane with regards to Torque? Anyone try it yet? Rob Dan minimizes that unwanted feature with the Carenado's, with the trick of lowering simulated torque in the first place. I would assume it's done here also. Would be nice to know, though.
January 13, 201412 yr Im going to pick it up tomorrow, So I guess Ill find out then and post my observations. Rob
January 14, 201412 yr Moderator Picked this up the other day, and it does feel different than the FSX version. It has the "torque bug", which is fixed in the same way as it is for Carenado aircraft, since it uses SASL. I did real training in this aircraft, and both FSX and X-Plane's version don't feel like the real thing to me, but it's good enough and it bought back memories. It's definitely worth getting if you like GA aircraft.
January 20, 201412 yr Does Alabeo offer discounts if we already have the other PA38? Brendan Chen Learning to use and getting use to FSX!
January 20, 201412 yr Does Alabeo offer discounts if we already have the other PA38? I wish they did! I own a number of their planes in both FSX and X-plane. But as of now, no there is no discount to owning both versions Rob
January 20, 201412 yr I wish they did! I own a number of their planes in both FSX and X-plane. But as of now, no there is no discount to owning both versions Rob Thanks for clearing that up. Not that it really matters, but who would want to give up on any kind of deals Brendan Chen Learning to use and getting use to FSX!
February 17, 201412 yr I was just about to make a purchase for the XPX PA38 and realise they say Tomahawk II? Does that mean it's a different one from the one that was initially released (ie there was a 1 sometime ago)? Brendan Chen Learning to use and getting use to FSX!

Does that mean it's a different one from the one that was initially released (ie there was a 1 sometime ago)? he 1981 and 1982 models were designated as the Tomahawk II. They incorporated improved cabin heating and windshield defroster performance, an improved elevator trim system, improved engine thrust vector, 100% airframe zinc-chromate anti-corrosion treatment, better cockpit soundproofing, larger 6" wheels and tires for greater propeller ground clearance and improved performance on grass and dirt runways, among other enhancements.
February 17, 201412 yr Very good information Vincent. Also I'd like to ask, when the engine is not running, the prop ticking little bit by little bit, until it gets to a certain combustion point the prop goes a quarter of the way then stops, ticking again. Haven't seen this behaviour anywhere else before, any suggestions? Brendan Chen Learning to use and getting use to FSX!

February 18, 201412 yr My Bonanza does the same thing. No idea...Wind hitting the blades maybe? Nah can't be, even in RL we ground our tomahawks because of rough winds, I don't see this behaviour on the blades. Might be an XPX thing... Brendan Chen Learning to use and getting use to FSX!
February 18, 201412 yr It's an X-Plane thing; happens with most prop aircraft, whether it's a Bonanza, a Hurricane, a King Air, or a DC3. The effect does seem tied to wind speeds/gusts, however. AVSIM Blog: The Big Tour: A Ridiculously Ambitious Trip Around the World
