Since installing REX4 Texture Direct I have never felt the need to create or install any themes .  Load times are so quick (seconds) that I generate a new, live weather  based theme, specific to each flight. Love the variety and I have never been disappointed. In fact, I am always amazed! Coupled with ASNext it has been producing incredibly realistic flights. Every time!!

That is so true it is fast when it loads sometimes i think it is to fast to be true but it is. But i do want to find realistic theme stormy weather with low visibility . One thing i notice when i load REX 4 Direct there is always some update on how someone loaded a new weather theme to rex 4 direct community. The first i loaded REX 4 was with sunset theme . An the sun came right on my view with AXE 32o it made it hard to see when  it came to landing so i can say it was very realistic with the lightning effect from the sun.

REX4 direct is a significant improvement over previous REX versions. The best for me is to load the weather of my destination and install the theme of the destination automatically as per REX. Then turn on ASN and fly.

As real as it gets.

I do wonder now that REX 4 Direct is out an we have very impressive weather engine such as OPUSFSX an ASN what will REX 4 Direct Weather Engine bring to the table when it is finally out . I mean OPUS is evolving every month i should say, ASN is also great so for REX4 Weather engine to be great it needs to be much more improvement than both ASN & OPUSFSX. I think when REX 4 Weather Engine is out i might wait a few months until i purchase it or even wait for the first SP to be out for it. I own almost every weather engine out there an i finally settle down with OPUS an not planing to move  from it for a while.

REX 4 direct, click on themes then weather tab. Enter your destination ICAO code, click submit. REX4 will pull the current metar for destination. Click generate, save and install.  Close REX 4, use whatever WX engine you like. Its that easy.

Doogie,
It has no bearing what so ever what ICAO code you put in, yes it give you the weather at that ICAO, but the theme is completely random.

I just ran a few test, From PHNL and my local EGNX, it changers everything runways...the lot.

It's just completely random and has no bearing at all on the real weather. Even if it does read the WX report.

It seems completely pointless.

To be honest, I picked a cloud set randomly, liked the results, and haven't touched it since. It seemed with REX Ess w/Overdrive always required tweaking with just ok results.

Voila! And that is how we do it.

The way to not have it change everything from runways etc. is to choose one runway etc. texture that you like as default, then go into settings and uncheck those elements that will not change with the theme changes.

Doogie am not having a go at you, I would love REX4 to work out the right cloud set for the given weather.

It does not, you try it Doogie.

Where in REX4 are these setting.
