January 16, 201412 yr Sad to say that flying with MSE photoscenery looks much better in FSX since we can have a higher LOD, I use 8.5 usually. How come there's a cap of 6.5 in P3D2? Why did they restrict this. This sucks for those who use photoreal. Has anyone brought this up to LM to see if they can remove this restriction. I've just tried using MSE2 Hawaii, and there's a ton of blurries, not sure why. But in FSX the textures loaded quick even at LOD-8.5, but in P3D2 with LOD maxxed out at 6.5 I am seeing extremely slow texture loading which results in a tremendous amount of blurriness on the ground. Really hope LM can do something about this. January 18, 201412 yr Author Does anyone here not use this combination with P3D v2? Would like to know your results and what we could do to make photo scenery look better. January 21, 201412 yr Hi, I have MSE Hawaii and it doesn't look that bad, but I never used it in FSX to compare. I know there are blending issues that will be fixed. Also, are you using the correct CPU affinity setting? For me this made a huge difference in texture loading.
January 21, 201412 yr Author Yes I am using affinity mask 84 which is correct for my cpu setup. The thing is that in P3D, they have capped the LOD to 6.5, in FSX i had it set to 8.5 for photoscenery and it looks so much better. January 22, 201412 yr Commercial Member I have only used photoscenery in P3Dv2, but was wondering how you set the LOD in FSX to 8.5. By the way, it looks really good in P3Dv2 with the excellent lighting and 3d clouds that comes with P3D. REX AccuSeason Developer REX Simulations
January 22, 201412 yr Author You can set the LOD in FSX by editing the fsx.cfg file and put in LOD=x, but in P3Dv2, it is capped to a maximum of 6.5, which makes a huge difference when using photoscenery. 6.5 vs 8.5 is really noticeable. February 14, 201412 yr in v2.0 I had no issues at all photscenery crisp and sharp with fast jets all settings to max, but with v2.1 now it is horrible :( blurries all the way...lots of people are reporting this from v2.1 I think it is one of the main issues now. I hope LM consider this in their next patch!!

February 17, 201412 yr Commercial Member I have used SimSavvy in P3D and it looks very good. I have not gotten blurries since I set AffinintyMask=15 on my system. REX AccuSeason Developer REX Simulations
