  • Well, Outerra has had only one variety of flora (pines) for quite some time, but have little birdies seen the future?

  • I think of it this way: there are two approaches to making a sim, particularly a flight sim. One is you make the planes and the things that go with the planes, and paste a somewhat satisfactory sketch

its fantastic that people are building complex objects but i wish the outerra guys would focus their efforts on making it easy for people to make airports and such

I doubt many are building anything, more like grabbing complex models off of websites and plopping them into Outerra, LOL.. That stadium does look pretty cool though.

I agree though, would be nice to have a proper tool for adding and placing objects. As for proper airports, that is all great and good, but without proper aircraft and flight dynamics, it seems kinda pointless.

And that's where this community comes in. Outerra can lay the groundwork, but its probably going to be up to either partners or very knowledgeable users (Flightgear Alumni?) to take things into the sort of ultra-detail popular at sites like these. I've always said the most I personally expect from the developers themselves would probably be something like Aerofly, but designed from the start to be almost plug-in modular for various purposes.

Bullet, and Jsbsim are the open source options from now, but people are already thinking of other ways of interfacing with Outerra.

I'm keeping my eyes open!

... now there is some real interesting (tech-) talking going on there! Not that, as a mere simmer, i understand it at all - but at least something - andcertainly worth reading!

Thank You very much for pointing us there!

Enjoy flying and happy landings.

My first attempt at something more professional-looking.

Nicely done Devon!!! You wouldn't know it's not a full fledged flight sim by looking at your video. I was really impressed with the coastline during the glider footage, very well done for procedural shaders.

Thanks! Essentially its how I see Outerra; not only what it is now, but the potential within.
