US Cities Los Angeles and MK Studios KSNA

If anyone knows how to make the two things compatible it would be awesome, though! Otherwise the Aerosoft LA scenery is great and really brings the LA basin to life.

The LA Cities scenery does add a lot in terms of landmarks immediately around KSNA including the blimp hangars and while it doesn't include everything, it does make it come alive as James says and feel more like Orange County.  But as he mentions, you also get airport structures at KSNA with some pretty mediocre textures so you kind of have to choose which bugs you more I guess.  I had tried the MK Studios KSNA some time back and decided that I didn't want to give up what the approach looked like with the Aerosoft product, but I can imagine many going the other way.

I agree, it would really be nice to be able to get the best of both worlds in this case.

I don't have that product so unfortunately I cannot help.

This is great news to me. I used to live in Long Beach and went to college there. A beautiful place, with a comfortable little airport. It will be a treat to fly out of this one, and looking good already. You are the man, Shez!

For the OP, you should be aware that MK KSNA is not compatible with US Cities Los Angeles. You'll get double terminals, buildings, etc. around the airport, and as far as I can tell there's no way to disable just the US Cities LA airport buildings without killing all the other objects in Irvine.

Create a folder called "Removed ADEXes" in your LA Cities X Scenery folder.  Put the "AF2_KSNA.bgl" in it.  Then activate your other KSNA scenery.  It should work. I have done this with KEMT, KVNY, and KWHP and not had any problems.  If it doesn't work you still have your original Cities X KSNA handy.

Mslim,

Unfortunately, the terminal buildings and such are actually built into the overall LA scenery itself. Removing just the afcad itself doesn't remove them.

James

I guess KVNY and KEMT are constructed differently from KSNA.

What happens if you remove or deactivate the Irvine_Normal.bgl or Irvine_Dense.bgl?  Do you lose the building objects beyond the airport perimeter?
