February 27, 201412 yr Hye, I recently bought P3D v2 and installed it on a partition of my 1TB HDD. I was pleasently surprised about how well it worked om my computer. I have also installed FSX on my SSD disk and FSX is also running very well. But............I want more I'm thinking about format my Windows and other disks and start all over again but this time not with FSX but P3D v2. (on the SSD disk) I like the fly the PMDG aircrafts aswell other aircraft. (like Aerosoft a320) I'm sure I can be away from PMDG a few months. I'm just not sure yet if I need to make the switch to P3D. I just need a final little push towards P3D (or FSX) and maybe somebody can give me that.
February 27, 201412 yr I just need a final little push towards P3D (or FSX) and maybe somebody can give me that. Trust me... no one can give you that push. Or let me rephrase that: you shouldn't WANT a push from anyone in this regard. For every post made in favor of one of the sims, someone can post another in favor of the other sim. The only one who can decide which sim you should use is you yourself. BTW If you really are so unsure, why not install both sims? I am a one-sim-man myself (P3D all the way!) but it's an option to install both addons anyway.
February 27, 201412 yr Oh come on ...... Surely if you are old enough to own a credit card to buy this stuff, you are old enough to make a decision that only you can answer .... because only you know your full circumstances, needs and desires. Questions like yours just start a fight amongst readers debate as demonstrated in every post like yours before it. Sent from my GT-N7100 using Tapatalk
February 27, 201412 yr I have two women in my life, one a good looking youth, but she has issues, serious bloody issues, but I keep coming back for more, even though sometimes I think I should not. The other is older and has matured with some grace, but is still prone to the odd bout of uneven temperament and the ugliness that comes with age, but I can live with that... on the whole she is reliable, and that counts for a lot........ but, the lure of youth is strong, and I am weak. Make of that what you will...
February 27, 201412 yr Push ... v2.0 Push v2.0 Push v2.1 Push v2.1 You wanted pushing, you got pushing ... :good: What fits your budget, tolerance, level of commitment, etc. etc. -- well only you have that answer, but you didn't ask that, you asked to be pushed and this is the best I can do for pushing. Either way, have fun with it, be professional with it, learn from it, develop with it, practice with it ... it can only be as much as you want it to be (applies to anything really). Cheers, Rob :Peace:
February 27, 201412 yr You wanted pushing, you got pushing ... :good: Heck...you're pushing me. I'm not getting a Titan...probably a 770...hope it looks as good. The more I see NorCal, the more I like it. Thessaloniki looks amazing as well. Gregg Gregg Seipp "A good landing is when you can walk away from the airplane. February 28, 201412 yr V2.1, especially when the mini-patch to fix vegetarianism or whatever it was...quietly--AMAZING! It can fool you because it is not just the younger woman (or whatever floats your boat), it's the old lady time-traveled back to youth. So she's very very familiar, but truly, she's way more attractive than the old gal, who was good to have a cup of tea w/ but not the kind of girl that gets your heart racing again. 2.1 is freaking amazing for it's ridiculous clarity, contrast & atmospherics, a fabulous implementation of HDR/light bloom, wonderful shadowing, and here's a huge one if you have the hardware: smoooooothhhhhh. I can't even tolerate using FSX any longer, and boy I was a fan for decades. I'm just waiting for the dust to clear for a few more growing pains to be solved, at which point I'm going to free up some SSD space and delete all that FSX. The big growing pain, 64-bit, is not such a big deal if they can continue to target issues w/ VAS management. 2.0 was for me far superior in this regard. If it can even be brought back to 2.0 grade VAS management that may tie some over til 64-bit appears. I'm just waiting for the Spanish inquisition ... errr, I mean Fr. Bill to finish up reviewing all my XML since he speaks XML-ACE fluently. (gosh I hope this is taken as humour, or humor).

Cheers, Rob Hey Rob, With a system like yours, who need pushing, LOL. I wish, I only wish I could, spending five grand on a system for a crazy hobby, that almost everyone else is thinking that I must be insane "flying" with the computer, is not going to fly well with me anytime soon. February 28, 201412 yr I'm confused- don't you (OP) already have P3D and FSX? And both installed? Why do you even need to choose, when you can use either sim without buying or changing anything? Sorry, just wondering what you are asking. Thanks. Bruce. ASEL, Instrument. KBJC, Colorado.
February 28, 201412 yr I wish, I only wish I could, spending five grand on a system for a crazy hobby, Well this is also one of my work PC's (I work at home most of the time) so my costs have only been controllers and GoFlight modules (aka anything not needed for work). I did however have to send my 2nd Titan back ... it had some SLi issues (nothing to do with P3DV2.x) ... this is 2nd time I've had to RMA a Titan video card, really odd ... pretty rare I RMA anything, but that's 2 Titans within the past 6 months or so ... and now it appears Titan's are not being manufactured in sufficient quantity so availability is low and prices have sky rocketed. Ugh, not a happy camper about that.
February 28, 201412 yr but that's 2 Titans within the past 6 months or so ... and now it appears Titan's are not being manufactured in sufficient quantity so availability is low and prices have sky rocketed. Ugh, not a happy camper about that. That's not good! I was on the fence on picking up another Titan, but if I don't it won't be a huge deal IMO, at least not for P3D V2.x I'm already getting very good quality AA w/ little to no impact on frame performance, and when I see GPU utilization bouncing along at only 60-80% I have to think add'l GPU may not add all that much. Hopefully I'm wrong on that. If it made a substantial impact on frame rate performance I would try to find one, but it it was primarily to augment AA quality I don't think the difference visually would be very compelling compared to what I'm seeing now. I do believe there is room for some improvement from a better AA, but not much at this point. In fact the combination of settings below in 2.1 was a big improvement in distance textures with virtually completely absent 'swimming'. Which continues to surprise me when I see people clamoring for better AA. I can't imagine someone seeing what I'm seeing and saying it's lacking in a way AA of any kind can possibly fix. P3D V2.1: FXAA: Off <<much sharper IQ w/o FXAA AF: 16x MSAA: 4x <<8x not much diff, minor frame rate hit Frame Rate: UNLIMITED VSYNC: ON NI: AA Compatibility (DX1.1) Bioshock <<magic trick w/ DX11 IMHO! AA Mode: Override <<I forget what it's called AA Type: 8xS <<good 'nuf Transparency: Supersampling 4x (I've tried SGSS 4x but there was a hit, and IQ wasn't much different at all) LOD Bias: Allow AF: Application Controlled That's it. February 28, 201412 yr And yet another PUSH (available in 1440p): FlyTampa Vienna This is with P3DV2.1 + HotFix 1 (XML parser gauge fix, no AutoGen fix or Stutter fix yet) Cheers, Rob.
