March 19, 201412 yr Since I always get lost at large airports, I use progressive taxi. Have you guys notice that it always takes you to the fuel depot, no matter what option you select? Thanks
March 19, 201412 yr Works just fine for me - to the runway that ATC assigns. March 20, 201412 yr Author Ahhh. Should've been more clear. I meant when landing and leaving the runway to park. Thanks
March 20, 201412 yr Once ATC instructs to contact "Gound", I click the ATC for ground frequency, ATC then shows "taxi to gates", taxi to parking", etc. I click taxi to gates, ATC then instructs to follow such and such to gate so and so. In the ATC window, I click on Progressive Taxi - yellow lines come on, and I follow them to assigned gate. Works fine for me. March 21, 201412 yr Author I'm clicking taxi to gates and the yellow lines always takes me to a fuel depot or fuel truck. Oh well, not a gamebreaker.
March 21, 201412 yr Wow - not ever seen this with FSX - P3D 1.3/1.4/2.0/2.1.... Learn something new every day. Good luck on finding a solution. March 21, 201412 yr Ah... there will often be a fuel truck nearby when you taxi to a gate. That doesn't mean anything. If the fuel truck isn't already there, he will arrive shortly. Hook Larry Hookins Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of EarthAnd danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
March 23, 201412 yr Author Wow - not ever seen this with FSX - P3D 1.3/1.4/2.0/2.1.... Learn something new every day. Good luck on finding a solution. Well progressive taxi did not work at all in version 2.0!
March 23, 201412 yr Hello whammo11224, My friend, I "stand" corrected. You're absolutely right - at least during this phase I started using airport diagrams and learned "a little" about navigating the airport markers etc. But, I have never heard or seen the progressive taxi always take you to fueling ? I sure would like to know what's causing your issue. Good luck, Tom Tom Higginbotham Intel 4820K - OC'd 4.8 ghz / ASUS x79 Deluxe Premium MB, 16 gig Corsair Dominator ram, CorsairRM1000 PSU, Corsair H-105 Liquid, EVGA 770 Classified, 37" Samsung TV/Monitor, Samsung 840 EVO SSD 1TB, WD VRaptor, 1TB
March 23, 201412 yr Author Thank you Tom. It's weird, but not game breaking as I said. If I knew how to make videos I would certainly post one. I'll keep checking, maybe my mouse is slipping ... I don't know, just grasping at straws.
March 23, 201412 yr Moderator From the "whatever it's worth department:" Yesterday I landed a 737-200C in FSX and was initially assigned to a parking spot in front of the fuel pumps. Only after coming to a full stop (which topped off the tanks!) was I then offered the option to "Taxi to (a) Gate" or "Taxi to Parking..." So, it's not just a P3D issue! :blush: Fr. March 23, 201412 yr I'm clicking taxi to gates and the yellow lines always takes me to a fuel depot or fuel truck. Oh well, not a gamebreaker. Just a suggestion but have you tried using GSX? It will despatch a Follow Me wagon to take you to your gate Rick Almeida
March 23, 201412 yr Moderator No Rick, I have not tried GSX. Although I use FSX and P3D every day, I rarely have time to actually "fly" in either one of them. Anyway, the main point was that P3D isn't unique with regards to Progressive Taxi, it has inherited the same behavioral quirks from its parent! :LMAO: Fr. March 23, 201412 yr Not sure if it might be of internet, but back then when I was new to simulators I always flew Antonov An-24 turboprop in FS9. And at every airport I arrived on, progressive taxi always lead me to a cargo area for every single flight. And not only this, usually, those cargo areas were very far away from where I landed and it wasn't rare to taxi for 30 minutes at large airports to my "gate" by the logistics.
