March 24, 201412 yr Every time I start P3D the Scenery Indexes are rebuilt. This causes GSX to regenerate its airport cache every time. It's a pain having to sit and wait sometimes up to 5mins before you can change location or aircraft. Is there anything in P3D I can do to stop the rebuild every time? - Dean P3Dv4 & XP11 space
March 24, 201412 yr I had to uninstall GSX for this very same reason. There has to be some way to smooth this process out. Sorry - I have no solutions on this one How I Evaluate Third Party Sim Addon Developers Refined P3Dv5.0 HF2 Settings Part1 (has MaddogX) and older thread Part 2 (has PMDG 747)
March 24, 201412 yr Yup, me too. I have ORBX TX Global installed, plus various sceneries (FSDT, others ported from FSX)....does a rebuild at every start. Jim BlakeCaptain, SWA Virtual AirlinesReal World C172 Pilot, AOPA #06034701
March 25, 201412 yr It lasts only some seconds so it doesn't bother me. A SSD drive is the reason for the quick start of P3D v.2.1. Spirit
March 25, 201412 yr The scenery indexes should not be rebuilding every time you start up P3D. I have it happening too and it was happening on day 1 after my initial install. I tried deleting the facilities/scenery indexes and letting them rebuild but no joy. Like others have stated though, it happens quickly and does not seem to be slowing down the startup. March 26, 201412 yr hello ,in P3d v2 scenery Library there is a box at the bottom center called something like "Empty scenery cache"have you tried un ticking this box seemed to speed up loading to me
March 26, 201412 yr I asked LM about this in their forum a long time ago. They told me it was normal and didn't offer any resolution. Of course, it's not really a problem, just a 1 or 2 second annoyance.
