Wait... wasn't this about weather radar?

Some shots sent to me today, of a flight in a B737 from BN to AYPY and return undertaken yesterday. Note the ominous sight of Tropical Cyclone "ITA" which is due to cross the coast of this state sometime today.

We here in NZ just got hit with the dregs of ITA today, roofs lost, trees down, and I wondered what it would look like on the WXR.

Nice pics.

I heard about that.  Everything OK?  I think the last thing I'd be thinking about is how it looks on the WXR hahaha.  So I'm assuming everything is OK?

There was only one time back in the AS2012 days (oh so long ago it seems) where me and a buddy took the NGX through one of the big hurricanes hammering the USA.  That was wild.  All we had to go on though was the display in AS2012.

It has been an interesting day. This sort of sums it up:

As long as you're safe and haven't lost anything man.

Only my yard gate. It is nowhere to be found. I shall go look for it tomorrow; probably over in a nearby garden.

But yea I believe no one was severely hurt or killed which is good news.

BTW, fired up ASN and sure enough, pretty accurate weather in NZ. Fun day for flying!!

Heck yes my friend.  It is decent.  I was just reminiscing about flying through hurricanes in AS2012 on another thread and I can't wait to try it in ASNext.  Is that morbid?  Weather is awesome!  And the most important part of our simulation if you ask me.

Certainly is, it really transforms FSX into something so much better than default, especially coupled with better textures etc.

Isn't any day in NZ a good day for flying?  I heard the wind down there has a reputation for being tough to deal with.

Yeah pretty much, depends where, Wellington is certainly tricky with a fairly short runway and horrible (fun) crosswinds. Queenstown is our own version of Inbruck with mountains and also tricky gusting winds which the terrain makes worse. I live near Hamilton which is not too bad but prone to 0 vis fog at times. CTC aviation based here at NZHN trains a lot of European pilots who end up at places like Easyjet etc. Anyone wanting to go for a spin (possibly an actual spin, if not careful) is advised to install FTX North and South islands; otherwise by default Microsoft made us look like a desert.

Yeah great thanks to all developers from HiFi and PMDG. Just missing FSCreew for 777 which will come out soon I hope. Hopefully this will be implemented also in NGX one day:)

I start feel like real PIC;-)

Congratulations to initiative and the partnership !

I'm looking forward for Service Pack realease.

By the way the Active Sky is  going to have a new costumer.

I've known about this through PC Pilot magazine.

Cheers !

You mention that if we didn't read those two paragraphs carefully; is the 777 going to use this feature on its own, without a separate purchase from HiFi? By that, I'm asking if this will be included with the SP1 or otherwise as a simple update, or only if we purchase HiFi's program?
