April 30, 201412 yr Hi All, After watching Froogle Sims Most recent Video regarding the PMDG 777 SP update, which includes the new weather radar, which what i can see from his video looks incredibly amazing. Is there any chance the same can happen for the 737 NGX? Jack Kind Regards, Jack Dutton
April 30, 201412 yr That would be a ROGER! http://forum.avsim.net/topic/438434-01apr14-happy-april-fools-oh-did-you-guys-make-us-laugh/?p=2957945 Chris Sunseri

April 30, 201412 yr Get ready to get some people mad for your question...... This is what iv'e been seeing a lot of lately. It's unfortunate really.. (Some individuals come every once in a while and may not lurk in the forums as much as some of us do). So yes, I get the fact that the search function should be used from time to time but a simple "friendly" answer doesn't hurt either. Some of the forum members may think otherwise. Nice short answer with a link attached is the best way IMO. Pinlifter did just that. Anyway, onto the topic: Froogle's video was great and this will give me a reason to stay throughout the flight on those long routes. I'm also looking forward to some of the functionality of SP1(Weather Radar) in my NGX. It's going to make those cross boarder flights alot more interesting. Cheers, Sante Sottile
April 30, 201412 yr Commercial Member I posted a link to it to give Kyle "the night off" Haha - thanks. Also (because this routinely plagues my controlling experience): 'roger' means "I understand;" 'affirmative' means 'yes.' Kyle Rodgers
April 30, 201412 yr Also (because this routinely plagues my controlling experience): 'roger' means "I understand;" 'affirmative' means 'yes.' I intertwine the two quite a bit even though you're correct on the meanings. I have a few years of experience talking to various control towers while in the military and they were pretty strict on the lingo. On the railroad now it's kind of the opposite. Some supervisors absolutely despise hearing the word "roger" on the radio. So that just encourages some to say it more lol. Me? I still get one in every now and then  Chris Sunseri
April 30, 201412 yr Commercial Member I have a few years of experience talking to various control towers while in the military and they were pretty strict on the lingo. Yeah. I get pretty strict about it on VATSIM. There's no need for CYA on VATSIM, really, but my real world aviation (and generally pedantic) side always creeps through. "United 445, are you able to fly the RNAV RNP Runway 19 Approach?" "Roger." "United 445, I need confirmation that you can fly the approach: affirmative or negative." "Affirmative!!!" (Thinking: don't get angry at me, homie...could've made it a lot easier on both of us if you simply knew what you were doing to start with.) Kyle Rodgers
April 30, 201412 yr (...) (Thinking: don't get angry at me, homie...could've made it a lot easier on both of us if you simply knew what you were doing to start with.) Affir... Roger! What happened to AVSIM
April 30, 201412 yr Affir... Roger! How bout a big 10-4 Ollie! Weather radars for everyyyyyyonnnnne  Chris Sunseri
May 1, 201412 yr How bout a big 10-4 Ollie! (...) What's the score, Chris??? Is it "Air Traffic Controllers: 10 - Pilots: 4"? Is this one of those "ATC always wins" or "Never a pilot has won an argument with an Air Traffic Controller"? Or rather "It is not wise to contest Air Traffic Controllers; they have more ways to admonish than pilots have of evading." What happened to AVSIM
May 2, 201412 yr Commercial Member What's the score, Chris??? She asked for something we couldn't accomplish, and when told "unable, sorry" she berated us on the frequency. I got a supervisor on the line after landing and told him what had been asked and that there had been some rather derogatory feedback. He was quite amused to learn that his controller had chosen to slap around one of the airline's chiefs... That never ends well for the controller- especially if it was on tape. Robert S. Randazzo PLEASE NOTE THAT PMDG HAS DEPARTED AVSIM You can find us at: http://forum.pmdg.com
May 2, 201412 yr (...) - especially if it was on tape. Yep, Rob, guess that's why the "let's pull the tape" type of ATC conversations make for some interesting listening - just like the "risk of closure" flagged topics on AVSIM make for some interesting reads! On another sidenote, what has happened to the pilot who didn't want to comply with ATC instructions ("clearances") in N.Y. airspace, declared an emergency instead, and finally landed on the runway of his choice?!? What happened to AVSIM

I believe he's been demoted to flying solely FSX planes now Ollie :p0805: Wonder if he's been briefed on OOM's  Chris Sunseri
