REX4 upgrade or keep REX E + OD

Exactly - if I want to stay with default water textures I need to install all others one by one and whenever I want to change them than again.

In Rex 3 the options menu didn't require me to go through it. I am using textures based on weather and this changes so I change them almost everyday. Why removing feature which makes our life easier?

Precisely that question did I intend to start a new thread with but someone came before me. I see I can get $5 discount owning REX 3. How much better can the textures get compared to REX Essential Plus?

I have purchased REX Essential Plus at Flightsim Store and in REX 4 product description I read that

'Existing REX Essential and REX Essential PLUS OverDrive customers will receive a $5.00 USD discount on checkout!'

But I see no such discount being applied when I checkout. What am I supposed to do?

If you go into rex4   and select the icao   in and it will bring up the  textures  for that airport  you got  a choice  do you want  to install these textures  yes or  no.  Cant  see whats so difficult  in this  takes about 10 seconds to install.

Also in rex4  if  you just want  to install  one  set of  cloud  texture  and not  change any others  texture  just go into  the cloud section  choose your set  and install and it will keep the other textures  as you had before

Hi jfri,

If you purchase REX4 from the same store where you originally purchased REX from, you'll be given the discount automatically at checkout. In our support forum we've had some folks advising us that it wasn't being applied, however, they were viewing the currency at the Flightsimstore.com as AUD, not USD and it confused them.

If you have any issues with this, please contact me via private mail here on the forum and we'll get you squared away.

Once again, because I think you missed my point. I am DX10 user. I want to keep original water and in the meantime be able to modify textures according to ICAO.

I could do this with one click in REX3. How to do it in REX4? How to modify all textures except water if I cannot turn it off in options tab? I have to go one by one because if I use ICAO and press yes it modifies all. If I press no it just presets texture set and than I need to install one by one. So yes, this is a real pain in the ...

ASN is an option Weather engine. The new king if you want the latest and greatest.

Not really, the best weather engine by far is FS Global Real Weather combined with REX 4. I compared several weather engines and this combination came closest to what live weather cameras were showing, ASN did also worse than Opus FX.

Just want to jump in here and let everyone know that today we have started beta testing SP 2 for REX 4 Texture Direct. Included in this Service Pack 2 is an OPTIONS window just like in previous versions of REX. Now you will have full control over what textures get installed and which do not.

Go to our forum http://www.realenvironmentxtreme.com/forums for more information. We expect this update to be available within a week or so.

This is a welcome feature.  Thanks for including it.

So is the main benefit faster loading textures and more of them?

IMHO I need better weather modeling from REX. I just can't justify purchasing another copy of REX for textures that I may or may not use. There are a ton I haven't even used yet and I've had REX for years.

So my basic question: What am I missing by not purchasing REX direct?
