Shouldn't be an issue, I guess about 90% of the models and textures of 5.4 are DX10-optimized already.

 

If going across the pond for GA flying is an option, ORBX NA: PNW, PFJ and FSAddons Tongass Fjords are great.

If not, ORBX is working on some Scandinavian scenery (Their Narvik Scenery Preview is breathtaking, btw!), and there's some great freeware sceneries available for Norway as well. A fellow member has made a very comprehensive list about it here.

 

For holiday airports, check out Aerosofts Greek Islands. IIRC, they're even on sale until tomorrow! Those are some real masterpieces, and up-to-date. A little dated but still great, and some nice flights with the 737, are the Balearics (also by Aerosoft), and - in case you prefer skiing for holidays - Innsbruck is also fantastic, and the approach adds some fun to it.

What you have missing is Orbx FTX Regions. I'm completely shocked that you don't have Orbx Pacific North-West installed, it's simply a must have with all the great details and airports it offers.

If you like Norway you should check out the excellent Norway freeware packages, as detailed in this thread http://forum.avsim.net/topic/430091-norway-updated-v2-fsx-and-p3d/ Might seem like a daunting task to get it installed, but it's definately worth it.

ad 'holiday airports':

 

Aerosoft have published two airport bundles (Holiday Airports and Holiday Airports 2). HA2, of course, is the more recent one with more up-to-date modeling.

 

Each bundle is 30 EUR (incl. VAT) and features four destinations, so the average price per airport is 7.50 EUR (again, incl. VAT).

 

Two of the better deals around, IMO ...

Does the Orbx come with mesh?

Or is it only scenery+airports?

Most ORBX regions come with mesh. For Australia, mesh has to be downloaded separately from fullterrain.com (free of cost).

 

The only regions where mesh is not included, AFAIK, are FTX Northern Ireland and the Rep. of Ireland.

 

ORBX regions also come with weather themes and Australia also with custom AI traffic.

I think it's time to try an Orbx region.

What is the best?

I normally fly in Denmark, so I have no specific location favorite.
