May 24, 201412 yr What do you think the most realistic zoom settings are, both for in the VC and also for setting up wingviews? Thanks
May 24, 201412 yr I, too, am interested in the answer most members give on this. My VC setup is close to 60. With wingviews on airliners, I like to add 3 + clicks to the default view. This usually gives me most of the wing to view without over reduction of the land below. On GA aircraft, it usually depends on the aircraft. But....I still want to hear what the majority use. Stan
May 24, 201412 yr I've always done 50% in FSX for VC, just to get more field of view and crisper outside textures. In P3D V2.2 which is my sim now I've kept it at 50%, however it seems like perhaps 60% in P3D is the same as 50% in FSX. May 24, 201412 yr I change mine constantly, but it's usually around .4 - .6. Any idea if the Occulus Rift will work in FSX? I wanted a trackIR but not if the Rift is just months away...
May 24, 201412 yr Would these settings you all use with Wideview set? If so, I set mine between 55-60. Bob Officially retired
May 24, 201412 yr It's been a few (a lot) of years since I sat in the real thing, but something on the order of .60 to .70 in the cockpit seems pretty close to what I remember from the real world. May 24, 201412 yr Looks like I'm the odd man out here. I set my VC at 1.0 and then push my eye viewpoint rearward to just before the seat back interferes with my view. I usually raise my eye view point a little also. I find this gives me the best perspective on landing and the largest field of view of the panel. Wideview=true spread across 3 monitors. Ted. May 24, 201412 yr A couple of weeks ago, after a flight, the captain was so kind to let me sit in the captain's seat of a Boeing 737-700 NG. With WideViewAspect=true, TrackIR, and a zoom setting in the VC of 0.9 (Monitor 1920x1200) I get exactly the view as in the real plane. In real life it is extremely small and narrow on a flightdeck. Therefore 0.5 etc. is highly unrealistic! Hans
May 24, 201412 yr I only have P3D v2.2 now, and I use .80. It looks correct to me and also, really helps with the AA, not eliminating it, but making it 100% less noticable. I actually have gotten use to it, as the first couple flights it seemed pretty close up to me as in FSX I used .60 William Sequeira
May 24, 201412 yr Same as Ted, 1.0 wideview, surround 3screens, view point backward as much as possible PierreP3D when its freezing in Quebec....well, that's most of the time...C-GDXL based at CYQB for real flying when its warming up...
May 25, 201412 yr 0.90 on a 1920x1080 widescreen and the view pushed back so it's almost inside the headrest. Can see both PFD/ND clearly and a good portion of the left-front window pane. I've sat in a 777 (perks of my job) and this looks the most realistic with only one screen. AJ Pongress
