Delete the OSM on your set-up and see for yourself! I will post a few though as soon as I figure out how to.

That means I have to d/l 10.30, which takes a lot longer than a screenshot! Tbh though, I've always found 10.25 to be butter smooth too and unless they've changed autogen and ground textures I can't see how it could be much different? Some of the screenshots in the screenshot forum don't seem to indicate a drastic change in graphics.

Mitch, I agree with others...

How about a couple screenshots just so we can see what, in your eyes, is totally epic Xplane at its best - and then we can compare on our end too.

I think I know what Mitch is talking about. Laminar's "plausible world" approach really works if you have HD mesh v2 installed and objects, forests etc. maxed out. It gives you a quite plausible look of cities, but this already in XP 10.25.

Of course, we still need more art assets. For Europe. though, you can install the Europe library that makes the default autogen look middle European.

You're right...most of the art assets are in .25..but the difference, with my thread created in mind, Mario...is that I now have the FPS headroom, to run the sim totally hot...and what a difference it makes to that plausible world...WOW, and to the point...now at 27-30 FPS on average!

So, with AVSIM no longer hosting, or allowing you to attach shots...give me the hand-hold scoop, in how to attach a shot...and I'd be glad to...

Carlos...ORBX will left out in the cold, if they don't act, and won't have a coat....they are losing money...the money that could come from XP patrons....and in this hobby...I'd welcome customers from all doors leading to my bank account.....

Go to a site like postimage.org, upload your image, and you can post the links it gives you into your posts. Just keep the file under 400kb (e.g. My turning to jpeg), and it will be shown inline inside the post.

Thanks, Tony!   BTW...haven't taken a grab from XP for some time.  What is the keyboard key to grab a screenshot?

Just went to that site...a question...what if I do not want to decrease the resolution...do you just then show the link to that pic in the thread?  I guess, huh?

Hit shift+space and it will save the image to your X-Plane directory with the same title as the plane you are using.

Thank you, sir! :)

Be sure to hit the FULL Size button at the middle bottom when the picture window opens. These are from previous shots..just wanted to test my new account. The shots from .30b1 will follow as I take them in one of my 'oh wow' moments! :)

You might want to have a look at this thread, where I showed some screens of 10.25 with OSM Europe, the European library, HD MeshV2, Treelines and Farms V2 and UrbanMAXX 3D:

http://forum.avsim.net/topic/442214-xpx-some-impressions-of-the-last-2-weeks-of-streaming/?p=2989482

My framerate is very stable (externally locked with NI at 30 fps, where it stays 95% of the time), even while streaming on 720p. Reasonable settings are quite important in XPX, but its not too hard to find them on your individual setup!

And here you can see some scrennshots of 10.30b1:

http://forum.avsim.net/topic/443039-xpx-1030b1-looks-really-good/?p=2996139

Who needs ORBX in XPX with all this fantastic free-/donationware available? ;-)

While it certainly looks good for being default scenery, it's just so far off from good OSM coverage (with World2XP) + photo scenery.

Quality and accuracy cost (in framerate), but if you have a beefy computer that´s no problem.

... and also "costs" good Data! .... Which is great in some parts of the OSM coverage, and totally lacking in others. So, I would say, bot technologies have their place .... depending on what you want, what you hardware can do, and what data is available in OSM.

Oh, and there is another - psychological - factor: the better you know a region, the more you want to be it accurate (like you know it from real life ... every house where you know them .... etc.), whereas in regions which you don't know, you can much easier accept just, plain "plausible" autogen (as long as it looks halfway believable).

True, and I mostly agree with Andras

I'd rather have a plausible World / Scenery, and smooth frames for my FDM to run better, than and exceptionally accurate scenery and a slide show...

Anyway, some products for FSX can provide us with more plausible autogen scenery than what I still see in 10.30 in X-Plane :-/. Of course I would have to pay extra money for those, while with XP10 I get it all for free, but, some would certainly care to buy such products if they ever became available for XP10, I believe...
