PMDG will announce their X-Plane project within the next 2 months

Recommended Posts

They could just as well come in from left field with something they have never done before and surprise everyone. [2]

Any aircraft that they create will be great! The amount of users worldwide will increase XPX, and with the PMDG support.

Doing a never done before aircraft would be a good move, giving folks a concrete reason to explore XP further. They would be creating a market for themselves.

If the new project for XP will be announced in september, I guess it will be available in 2015, spring or summer!!

I'm thinking it's the classic Douglas DC-6B Cloudmaster.

Captain Randazzo said they are nearing completion of their first X-Plane project and that it will be revealed in the next 60 days. At that time they will reveal what their second project is going to be. It doesn't seem like we'll have a super long wait for the first one. That,of course, is always subject to change.

Considering my smooth XP10 performance in comparison to my slowly deteriorating FSX, this is great news.  I'm hoping it's the NGX since it's such a prolific airplane in the real world, which will allow me to do a lot of short and medium flights.

They don't really follow any 'deadlines' per-say. They may have internal project deadlines for their products but they mainly work based on a philosophy of 'it will be released when it's ready'. They also didn't state that it will be released then but only announce what the project will be, it may still be some time before it's actually released.

It will be really interesting to see what it will be though, and how it will compare in terms of quality to their FSX line of products considering this is a new platform for them that they've never worked with before.

A good formula to follow is to take what RSR says and add about 6 to 7 months to it, that way you won't get your hopes up. :)

Keeping fingers crossed that it's an overlooked aircraft for X-Plane- the MD-80 series.

A PMDG MD-80 would be  :O

I think you are right,The DC-6 for FSX has been in development for almost 3yrs,They announced it around the same time they said they were interested in developing for XPlane,I believe they're developing The DC-6 for both platforms simultaneously.

Why 60 days ? Maybe they are waiting for 10.30 to go final and the high altitude visibility blur to be fixed !

Hope it's the NGX. But there is NO WAY this will be announced in 60 days. There is a good chance it will be Xmas before you here of anything. And I am only talking about an announcement; let alone the actual plane. mid 2015?
