Hello everybody,

 

The title sums it up.

I am looking for a program in which I can organise all my software, the email adresses, the registration keys....

 

So far I have been running a tight ship but with the collection growing everyday things get more or less out of control and it is time to bring everything together in one program/application

In the past I have been looking at CAsoft but that developer seems to have vanished. The website is still available but the software itself cannot be purchased anymore.

 

Is there anybody who can give me info on such a program?

 

All help will be very much appreciated.

MS Notepad does a great job.

Or even Excel.

I'm using the Ubuntu Software Center and Base. :smile:

I use excel....used to maintain it regularly but found that I spent so much time doing other stuff that I wasn't flying, so I stopped.

 

But I recommend excel so you can sort by each of your key factors.

So far I have been using MS Notepad indeed but it has it's limitations.

Exell might be the road to follow for now I think.

 

Probably will give it a try this weekend.

Instead of creating a single central record for all the purchases, I tend to place a TXT file in the directory along with the downloaded assets - programs, manuals, liveries, etc. etc.  That way my purchase info, serials, email adresses used, and other info is always there when and if I need it.

 

I use the same TXT file as a place to note particular tips, tricks, or tweaks that a given package may benefit from.

 

(All my downloaded software packages are backed up both internally on a second drive, and externally on a removable, offsite drive. Safety first!)

Might take a look at Belarc Advisor, but I think it only audits software installed in a "normal" windows method.

This is my system as well, to the letter in fact... :smile:
