August 20, 201411 yr A decent, consumer priced, throttle quad would be the bee's knee's, to go with their yoke. FFB or not, I'd buy it. I don't need auto throttle in a turbo prop. Iris will be posting another update on Friday. Jazz Delivery of their FFB yoke is getting cloo-ser.
August 23, 201411 yr I received this update from Iris Dynamics; (note: this is just a snippet from an email I received this evening.) "Since we are coming out of the pre-order phase we will be adjusting the price to represent the higher cost of building individual units. A new retail price of $1499 will come into effect September 1st. If you want to purchase a unit at the pre-order price you have until midnight August 31st to do so." Yikes! $800 seems like quite a bargain now. regards, Jazz
August 23, 201411 yr Author I'm glad I locked one in at the pre-order price. This is going to be an amazing piece of hardware!
August 23, 201411 yr I thought the whole first affordable force feedback yoke marketing was all BS, now they are no different than anyone else price wise. They are a no go for me now, I'm not being rushed into buying one until I've seen how reliable/realistic they are, they have already proven that they used substandard parts after the failures they had in their HDK kits. Cheers, Andy.
August 23, 201411 yr The price is really creeping up! Here is a good alternative..if you can live with a stick you can get the Microsoft FF sidewinder on Ebay. They are built like a tank and then grab this http://www.fs-force.com/ All sub $100 and the immersion is amazing! ZORAN
August 23, 201411 yr For the real story on the counterfeit chips that made their way into 2 of the HDK's, you can read about it on their website. http://forums.irisdynamics.com/forumdisplay.php?fid=12 Jazz
August 23, 201411 yr Author Based on their twitter post, it appears that they are shipping out a pre production unit to someone. Hopefully it's a FS reviewer like Frooglesim or BelynzHD so that we can get a first impressions review video.
August 23, 201411 yr I don't think so. I believe the kickstarter orders will be filled before any of the reviewer yokes are sent out. I'll probably have one in my hands before any reviews are printed. But, who knows, I'm near the bottom of the list of early bird orders. Jazz

Hello Chad, Do you use linear ball bearings on the main shaft? Or is it some kind of plastic bushing there? September 5, 201411 yr Author Hello Chad, it's great to have someone from the company responding to the flightsim community here on avsim. Welcome to the thread. Is there anything new that you can tell us about the yoke or the release date since the last update posted on the website? I have retired my Saitek yoke, and have been checking for any news I can find daily. Very much looking forward to getting my hands on this one. Also when can we expect to start seeing some first impression videos showing up online?
September 5, 201411 yr Hi Hadoken, I will do my best to answer what I can. As for new stuff, that is really hard as things that seem normal and everyday to me is new and exciting to everyone out there. so here is a couple new things. all of our electrical boards are in the hands of UPS and on the way here. The cases are at the powder coater finished and I will be picking them up monday afternoon (and tweeting a pic of them in the back of a U-Haul). The power supplies are a bit of a hold up they are not going to be sent until the 15th so we will probably have them end of that week at the latest, which is a week later than i thought. should not really delay things as we are still able to make the rest of the units and put that part in last. As for review videos... we decided here that people who paid for units should get their units before we send a demo unit out to any reviewers. Although we probably would sell more if we did send a unit to Froogle, I think it is more fair to send them to the people who paid first. We like to do what we feel is the right thing. With all that said we were going to do some of our own videos as we test units, so look forward to those. We also hope that people who receive units will make their own videos and share their experiances too.
