You will never know till you put it together but it looks good.

Everything looks good apart from the graphics card. If you can stretch the budget, try to get at least a GTX 760 or a GTX 770 if you want to run at high settings. In my opinion, the GT 720 will struggle, unless other users have some experience with it? However, it all depends on what resolution you want to run it at too.

I'm running a GTX 780 at 2560x1440 and can just about maintain 30fps in Heathrow with a few tweaks to the fsx.cfg file.

I'd also agree with Denis above on the power supply, I wouldn't be comfortable running one that low wattage.

Best of luck,

Steve

You might also want to consider installing an SSD rather than (or in addition to) an HDD to reduce loading times

Get rid of that CPU cooler if possible. It won´t do much.

CPU is fine unless you are overclocking it. Would get 760 or 770 gpu and 700 watt psu. Skip SSD only helps load up fsx faster. It comes down too how much you want to spend.

Gtx 760 as a minimum....

I personally would have a higher watt power supply

I agree, try this PSU calculator as a guide.

Nice link! Idid it just seconds ago. I hit the 700W with my system, so my 750W from Corsair is just all right.

I fully agree with you, Steffen. A great tool. Just calculated. 535 W so my Antec True Power TP650W will suffice.

Idk those PSU calcs are so far off from what a system actually uses under load... It said 858w at peak power while kill a watt only measured my load (during 3dmark11 and Intel IBT) at 360w

Honestly, even if you don't overclock, the if your going the i7, get the 4790k instead of 4790. I don't feel like the price difference is worth the difference in stock clock speeds.

Considering its the same processor, the K being unlocked and stock clocked to 4.0 GHz instead of locked multiplier and stock of 3.6 GHz:

At the Newegg prices of $339.99 for the 4790K and $309.99 for the 4790, rounded to $340 and $310 respectively: the 4790K is ~$85 per GHz, while the 4790 is ~$86.111 per GHz.

From my experience on my older PCs, that 0.4 GHz can be the difference between 30+ FPS and laggy 15-20 FPS.

Agree with everyone else on the Graphics Card and Power Supply.

Also try to get a better cooler, you can get the 212 Evo for I think $36 dollars and $30 after mail-in rebate at a Micro Center or on their website. It won't say it's compatible with 1150 on the box, but i believe the it was the 1155 mounting hardware has the same spacing and works. I've heard stories of the Stock coolers sometimes being so bad the processors hit pretty high temps under load.
