October 9, 201411 yr Great info Guys - have to report back my findings on a titan - lets see what happens - all very interesting Rich Sennett
October 10, 201411 yr Ok Guys anyone who has not tried this - you have to try DSR - WOW flight is smooth as a babies behind - picture quality is stunning and I have more FPS than before - haven't played to much but my control panel is is factory settings with DSR Factor at 1.20x and Smoothness left it at factory setting 33% man this is wicked so far - post a screenshot in a bit - oh p3d menu settings is 2X AA and 2X MSAA Rich Sennett

October 10, 201411 yr I've been researching this all day ... I can't wait until NVidia releases it for the Kepler cards like my 780GTX. The other forums said it would be out later this month ... No need to wait - Titan is a Kepler - follow this thread by Mark good to go - one thing I did different is I could not extract it so I launch it when it says to install it dont just go to the folder it self extracted to and over with the inf file with the new one in that thread - - I suggest a good driver cleaner - I use payware drivercleaner.net its the best Rich Sennett

It's a bit surprising though for such a small dsr factor. Also an increase in frame rates is hard to explain unless you have reduced your settings in the sim. ??? gb. YSSY. October 10, 201411 yr Adam, thanks very much for this post. It has made a very dramatic change in P3D ver 2.4. It has made the scenery more crisp and it has smoothed out the sim. I was getting stutters every few second's or pauses whatever you want to call them This has straightened it out at least for me and my system. I am still experimenting but this are really better than they were. The stutters were really noticeable in the turns. Now it is as smooth as a baby's bum as someone said and it's true. Just wonderful!!!!!!!! Cheers Nelson
October 10, 201411 yr Check this out - picture worth a thousands word Guys http://forum.avsim.net/topic/453097-dsr-wow-must-see/#entry3091899 Rich Sennett
October 10, 201411 yr Adam, thanks very much for this post. It has made a very dramatic change in P3D ver 2.4.'' Nelson, Adam has still not told us what AF/AA he has set in P3D. What are your settings there? Thanks, gb. YSSY. October 10, 201411 yr I've run formal benchmarks on it and some subjective flights. There is NO DIFFERENCE with and without DSR. No reduction is shimmering, no noticeable improvement in AA and no increase in FPS. That's with my 970 and P3D v 2.4.
October 10, 201411 yr DSR on my 780Ti (at 1.73x and 25% smoothing) really made wonders for all installed freeware bridges ("Norway Bridges" by Andrew Thomsen). And a general reduction, not elimination, of shimmering. This with no SGSS in NI at all. But on my system at least it gives approx. the same load as 8xSGSS. Might try 1.3x and see if that is enough DSR. Don't know it DSR is supported in Surround, but even if it does I woun't even dare to try 5940x1080 + DSR Olewww.flightsimnorway.com
October 10, 201411 yr Hi Gb, look at this picture: you have to make sure the three high lighted (BOLD) settings are done. I forgot one and it didn't work so check again. My P3D settings are FXAA--OFF texture filtering--Anisotropic 16 MSAA-8 samples TEX Resolutin- 4096 X 4096 I have a GTX 780 TI and I can't find any DSR setting. Can anyone help here. Where in the nvidia conrol panel is it found
October 10, 201411 yr Author It has made a very dramatic change in P3D ver 2.4 Hi Nelson that's great to hear! I have noticed that the Orbx autogen trees around Europe still have a slight shimmer but elsewhere where Orbx trees aren't used are fine. I could get rid of the Orbx shimmer but only by increasing my settings too high for what I'd consider stutter-free flight. So I've gone back to the settings as in the screenshot above. October 10, 201411 yr Commercial Member I have to say this DSR tweak has made a positive impact on my P3D. I would say, an extremely positive one! Keep in mind that I am using a 46" Samsung LED HDTV with a native resolution of 1920x1080 and I'm sitting about 3-4' from the TV, so this screen size at 1080 does not scream sharpness. Now, I have enabled DSR Factor x4 and the difference is DAY AND NIGHT! Now I can easily read all the VC gauges without any issues. Everything looks very sharp and clean. I also knocked down the AA within P3D to 2X, disabled VSync and set my FPS slider to unlimited. Result? Butter! It looks nothing like before. My TV now looks as sharp as my Dell 24" 1920x1200 monitor! Performance wise, I am averaging 30+ with Rob Ainscough's 4K settings for P3D 2.4, except that I dropped AA to 2X. My CPU is an i7-3770K @ 4.7GHz and my videocard is an eVGA GTX680+ 4GB @ 1.29GHz core/6GHz memory clock. Regards, Efrain RuizLiveDISPATCH @ http://www.livedispatch.org (CLOSED) ☹️
