October 10, 201411 yr sounds so exciting! I'm using a 50" 1080p plasma and AA is always a bit troubling. Couldn't wait to give DSR a try tonight. 9950X3D / 64GB / RTX5090 / Pimax Crystal Light / Win11
October 10, 201411 yr OK DSR users: Is DSR available on gtx 780 TI cards. I am seeing different opinions on this thread. What this about drivers 344.11 vs 344.22. Can someone put us all straight ??? Nelson

Try this thread: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/453097-dsr-wow-must-see/ You need a specific driver to use DSR with the 600 and 700 series cards but it does work once you set it up. Ryan Ryan
October 11, 201411 yr I gave DSR a try and it's hard to say whether 4xDSR + 33% blur + 2xMSAA is better than 4xMSAA + 4xSGSSAA. On my 50" screen, DSR showed less shimmering, but also appears to be noticeably fuzzier with reduced contrast. 4xSGSSAA is definitely sharper and more contrasty, but has noticeably more shimmering. It's hard to read fps in 4xDSR (3840x2160 downsampling to 1920x1080), but it seems no obvious performance hit with 4xDSR compared to 4xSGSSAA. In the end I may still prefer 4xSGSSAA. 9950X3D / 64GB / RTX5090 / Pimax Crystal Light / Win11

October 11, 201411 yr Not fuzzy here at all - I am using native resolution in P3D and just turned on DSR in control panel - works great - performance is the biggest difference I am seeing Rich Sennett
October 11, 201411 yr Not fuzzy here at all - I am using native resolution in P3D and just turned on DSR in control panel - works great - performance is the biggest difference I am seeing I think I did the same? I turned on the 4x DSR in control panel and selected 3840x2160 in P3D/Options/Settings/Graphics. It's a bit hard to say Image quality wise DSR and SGSSAA which one is definitely better. Each has plus and minus and I guess it boils down to personal preference. 9950X3D / 64GB / RTX5090 / Pimax Crystal Light / Win11

FlyIce - I have a native 27" lcd monitor which runs a native resolution of 2560x1440 which is what I also have selected in P3D menu - there is one more to choose from with a higher resolution but noticed my menus were a bit blurry and I did not like it - may revisit it to check it out but just letting you know what I am doing - in P3D I have 8x AA and 2x on MSAA Rich Sennett

FlyIce you need to select 1900x1080 in P3D to replicate what Richard did. It's not how it's supposed to work but if it gets results.... gb. YSSY. Still have to test it more. I choose x 1.20 and 20%. In Fs the higher resoltuion as also my screen resolution. Unchecked FXAA in P3D . Kept 2x MSAA. I have to do some tests In P3D regarding FPS , shimmering and smootness. Especially now that I turned off FXAA I am curious how it will work out. Edit : I ended my DSR tests and went back to my former situation. P3D was sharp , but the menue lines where shimmering. P3D with 16AF , FXAA and 8x MSAA looks the same regarding sharpness on my led TV screens. When using 1.20x + 20% or 1.50x + 33% and letting the resolution the same as the monitors native resolutions there is no gain on sharpness. I took some screenshots and compared them. No difference. Only when setting Windows / P3D to the higher resolution a difference can be seen.... 5950x3d 5.4-5.7 GHz - Asus ROG 870 Crosshair Apex - GSkill Neo 2x 24 Gb 6000 mhz / cas 26 - MSI RTX 5090 Gaming Trio OC - 1x SSD M2 6000 2TB - 1x SSD M2 2800/1800 1Tb - Corsair 5400 case - Corsair 360 liquid cooling set - 3x 75’ TCL tv. 13600 6 cores @ 5.1 GHz / 8 cores @ 4.0 GHz (hypterthreading on) - Asus ROG Strix Gaming D - GSkill Trident 4x Gb 3200 MHz cas 15 - Asus TUF RTX 4080 16 Gb - 1x SSD M2 2800/1800 2TB - 2x Sata 600 SSD 500 Mb - Corsair D4000 Airflow case - NXT Krajen Z63 AIO liquide cooling - FOV : 200 degrees My flightsim vids : https://www.youtube.com/user/fswidesim/videos?shelf_id=0&sort=dd&view=0
October 11, 201411 yr I got it working as well using the matrix digital TH2G0 . My default monitor resolution is 1650x1050 ( 4950x1050). It may have been a bit too much for the 780gtx to handle. It did work but I would have to set the resolution in the sim and then quit and restart it to take effect. I'll experiment with it some more but I was encourage that it worked with triple screens.
October 11, 201411 yr FlyIce - I have a native 27" lcd monitor which runs a native resolution of 2560x1440 which is what I also have selected in P3D menu I don't get this... so, you're not actually running DSR? The only benefit you may get is from the Smoothing, which just add blur... why not try a higher resolution in P3D? as you are missing the main point of DSR. Only when setting Windows / P3D to the higher resolution a difference can be seen.... This is not correct. Did you drop into windowed mode and then back to fullscreen in P3D? as the new res will not apply if you don't... unless you re-start the sim.

I have a TH2GO digital, GTX 780 and the latest NVIDIA driver, 344.48. In the NVIDIA control panel there's the option DSR, but no way to change it from off, there are no other options. What could be the cause ? I just installed the driver, none of the extra NVIDIA goodies, could that be it ? Martin Bunjes
